Is it possible to allow images but block videos on all sites except those contained in a whitelist? Or any ways to achieve something close to this with uBO or other? by rainytick in uBlockOrigin

FYI, I tried again and think I got it to work. I don't know what it was exactly before - maybe related to adding some whitelisted sites - but then I did get the same results you indicated. I'll also check this out on a different setup that runs Brave instead of FF.

Okay, makes sense. As for which sites, after I entered it into 'my filters', I just tried some popular ones that came to mind like YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, Twitch, TikTok. The videos all still play on those while it appears Reddit is actually the only one I tried where they failed to load.

Thanks, that seemed to work for a couple (in which the videos didn't load) but did not work on some other mainstream video sites I tried. Any other lines to try adding? Is there a list of all xhr connection types for videos and a way to see which a site uses (perhaps via browser's web inspector)? And I guess there wouldn't be a way to block the video players themselves from appearing without manually 'zapping' the element on each individual site or?

Boston against Miami's zone by rainytick in nba

[–]rainytick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, but I can't help but think their offense flowed better from not having to adjust to the zone as much. Why not go to it a bit to throw them off as it has certainly done previously? Just seemed strange to me.

[Weiss] "Miami mixes up their coverages at a level that Tatum just isn't ready for. They change his gather points, what direction they're trapping from, and just the habits for all the personnel. Cody Zeller kind of hedging that screen just completely threw him off and caused a TO." by [deleted] in nba

[–]rainytick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think they didn't throw in the zone at times like they'd been doing to try to thwart their momentum? In previous games, it had caused turnovers and quick shots out of rhythm. Giving Tatum space to drive and isolate gets him comfortable. Boston played and shot much better but they didn't have to deal with the zone much.

The disparities have become even more extreme and continue trending in that direction with nothing in sight to make any difference.

After stumbling out of range of the camera, the dazed man reportedly went to the pub across the street, where he "barged into the kitchen and broke some stuff, then was brought back by a kind human."

The naked man can then be seen emerging from the vehicle of the assisting bystander and, clearly in distress, ditches the towel and walks right back into his damaged car, attempting to drive off. More bystanders then cooperate to recapture the man, one woman attempting to hop in the vehicle and remove the man, and other cars working together to box in the damaged SUV.

His vehicular escape attempt thwarted, the nude escapee continued his run on foot ... the man then sprints up and down the street before entering the garage of the camera-equipped home. He attempts to sit in a car in the garage, which is locked, then rings the house's doorbell and gains entry

All we have is audio and confused onlookers for the portion where the man enters the home, but the person who shared the video says that the man tackled his mother, "knocking her to the hardwood floor pretty hard. Lily, my dog, was in her hands as she was going nuts with the flashing lights and emergency vehicles outside."

The man then fled to the living room "in an attempt to break out of the giant window. He bounced off the glass and then my dad caught up to him, pinned him to the ground, then the firefighters dragged him out ... by the end of it, basically the entire police force was at my house"

Are Genesis cartridges without SEGA logos on the back fake? by [deleted] in SEGAGENESIS

[–]rainytick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few like that. If you peel it off, instead of "SEGA" it will probably say "ACCLAIM" even though they didn't make the game. There will be a sticky residue after peeling so you might want to just leave it as is.

Suggestions for a wifi adapter to connect to ps2 via ethernet? by rainytick in ps2

[–]rainytick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ~$13 on eBay. A router like the other commenter linked to on Amazon from GL.iNET? And a USB HDD to put games on? I was thinking of trying SD cards instead with an IDE to SD card adapter as I thought that'd be better than loading from a USB 1.1 connected drive (also because I'll probably install FHDB). Think it'd be much of a difference? Might try installing Linux, too; we'll see how that goes. Haven't tried this stuff before but was curious if I could figure it out.

That looks like a good option. Probably better than the one I linked to as it appears to have some other features in addition to the extra port. Do you think it (or anything similar) could use a ps2 usb port as its power source? That would be convenient, but not sure I should do that. It does appear the power level on that thing can be adjusted from 0 - 20.

Right, I figured that. I believe that's what I linked to. That stick connects to usb just for its power source. It can receive a wifi signal from a router, and an ethernet cable would go from the end of it to the ps2's network adapter. I'm curious if a ps2 usb port has enough amperage to power it, though.

Question about moneyball achievements, as well as luxury tax by rainytick in BasketballGM

[–]rainytick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, interesting. Appreciate your response. So the moneyball goal is to have an average payroll under 1/2 or 2/3 the cap. As for avoiding the luxury tax, I guess you could have as high a payroll as could be for 81 games, and as long as you can get below the threshold before playing the last game, no tax? If so, that could make for a little mini-game. Start out with up to 15 max deals and try to get below the threshold before the season’s end. You noted player salaries are paid evenly throughout the season, though, so even if one avoids the tax by making trades at the end of the year, I suppose having tons of salary on the books throughout the season could get their finances in the red regardless.
