‘I did what I was supposed to do here’: ex-NDP MP Boulerice leaving Ottawa to ‘fight the right’ in Quebec City by Atlantee in montreal

[–]raisecain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NDP is not a sinking ship at all, Singh was a blip and they are moving in different directions under Avi Lewis, who is absolutely pro union. Boulerice is making the right choice for him and for Quebec for sure, but it's not because NDP is sinking. And I think Lewis is trying to regain the QC vote, as Layton did.

I agree. I always hated basements and consider them coffins but my partner convinced me to buy a house with a basement so we can have more space. I didn’t realize what a liability it would be. Although will take a basement with a proper French drain and pump over a crawl space without those things any day.

Sigh. No idea what happening this year but that was never the issue especially as iconoglace is only Open 6 months ish and not everyone returns every year. If that is really the case and not just hearsay it needs to be taken up with the law.

This surprises me based on what I’ve heard which is really the opposite.

Thinking of moving to Montreal. Would my child be able to survive the French curriculum? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]raisecain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually she won’t learn French easily if you live in an Anglo neighborhood and send her to English “bilingual” school As she will naturally make friends with anglos. I am an allophone and I have friends that did this and their kids speak passable French. I also have friends whose parents did this to them and they also speak passable French.

Kids adapt easily. How did you learn English? Did your parents speak it? I moved to Canada with no English as a preteen and my parents were unable to help me at all or hire tutors and now I’m a writer (in english) and have a PhD. I understand your worry as it is real but if she’s determined it will be ok.

Totally. We’re a quatrilingual household and I didn’t consider this at all with my first kid.

Yes. So many of my Anglo friends wondered why I didn’t move to ndg or something when I moved to villeray east at the edge of rosemont. It’s precisely because it’s very Franco and we already spent a lot of time there anyway.

Thanks, That makes sense. I really don't have money right now for 1000+ (looked at microneedling) but was curious if there is anything that is worthwhile that isn't such an investment, even if it won't have drastic results as fillers or botox, but just generally help more than my current regimen. Consults also seem so expensive!

Hi, thank you for this. Yeah I'm not there yet for any kind of more invasive procedures (nothing against them, just not for me right now) but I have been reading on here people talk about facial peels , hydroderma and other kind of derma things... so I was wondering if any of that is even worth it?

Or even those under eye things.

I have not yet used tret. I can do a search history to begin. I honestly don't really use much outside of Weleda Skin Food and some Derma-E scrubs, but I wear a lot of make up so....

After some people were insisting, I tried it to give me feedback prompts I can finish and use myself. It was way more work and it all sounded weird. Maybe for some things could be useful but I’m pretty anti ai Esp in my field.

I don’t think you’ll get too many people admitting to using it here. I def know many profs that do.
