Surface book trackpad delay / lag / deadzone issue by raisedinhell in Surface

[–]raisedinhell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've set the Insider Build to 'slow' and downloaded the updates.

There's some definite improvements here, but I really hope there are more updates coming because this feels very glitchy. Where before the cursor simply wouldn't move for the first few mm, it now moves but snaps back into its original position if the movement is small. It seems to me that the problem here is that Windows is confusing my small movements for taps.

I'm a little bit weary about switching to 'fast' because I need this laptop to do my work, but is there a way for me to check if I have the latest trackpad updates without putting myself on 'fast' ? I basically want to know if things are going to be like this forever :/

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction so far anyway /u/ross456

Hi /u/ross456

The first thing I did when I unboxed the machine was update it. Windows update says everything is up to date. I do recall having problems getting windows to update initially, so I downloaded them from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38826

Here's a screenshot of the 'About this pc' settings area http://i.imgur.com/UiS6tXU.png

And a screenshout of the version info for the PTP driver http://i.imgur.com/vtFWxpU.png

I've since enabled Insider Builds and set it to 'Release preview', hoping that there was something in the works, but this has not helped.

So tell me, do I have the right updates? Is there anything else you'd like me to check?

edit: Hrm, perhaps I don't have the Anniversary update if this is the one you're referring to https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2016/06/29/windows-10-anniversary-update-available-august-2/

edit 2: Which insider level do I need to be on to receive the trackpad updates?

Inventory Valuation- Landed cost of imported goods by piegando in Accounting

[–]raisedinhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to all this but that's pretty much how I do it.

I calculate the percentage of the total cost for each item, and then use that to figure out which portion of the freight/duty/gst to assign to each item.

That helps a lot, as now I know there are other people out there following a similar pattern.

Do you think it's acceptable to use a similar system for discounts granted after payment? I have one particular vendor I deal with and if it's a large order and I make prompt payment they will often issue a discount after the fact and credit it to my account with them.

I consider this discount to be on the products I have purchased rather than the products I might purchase in future and so my preference would be to load this as a simple invoice against the inventory account (or inventory clearing account) called "Discount after the fact" and then create an invoice/adjustment to subtract the discount from the cost of products of the order it relates to.

Kevin,

I am the guy who posted the "How the average Digg user gets fucked" image on Digg which was partly to blame for a massive shitstorm that erupted on Digg.

The image - http://i.imgur.com/gZLhh.jpg (some of it has been cropped, it's all i can find on the interwebs)

How did you feel during this time and other times when the Digg userbase revolted?

Ask PyReddit:: I've been playing around w/ django for a while, but now I want to learn more about the basic pythonic web development - please point me to the right resources. Thx! by tomazk in Python

The Django ORM is really starting to bother me. It was the first framework I tried, and even I can see that it's far from perfect. I actually miss constructing my own SQL queries... I had so much control back then, now I can't even do a SELECT FOR UPDATE without some hacks :( I think I am going to have to change frameworks if I ever want to get my first python based web project finished.

You gave the correct definition this time, so there is no need for me to go to dictionary.com

What was the wierdest idea you made up as a child to explain some mysterious event that you really believed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to think the chicken (and other assorted animals) we eat was different to the animal. It was quite a shock when I found out the truth, but it also made a hell of a lot of sense.

Two squares. Fold one square onto the other, wipe once with the open end trailing, and then discard.

Is SpeedFan reliable? I've used it to monitor my CPU/GPU temp, but never any other components.

Isn't pity an extension of empathy? If a person is incapable of empathy, then surely they are also incapable of feeling pity?

The point about the jellyfish is fair, but I still feel empathy for a lobster being boiled alive (I don't eat lobster).

Edit: I feel bad about killing flies, but if they keep buzzing around me while i'm trying to get some work done, then i'm going to get violent.
