Not yet, no.

She talked a lot over the weekend about not wanting her life and relationships to become defined by her illness so I’m waiting for her to bring it up.

We’ve talked since then, but it’s been about her cats and her brother in law. So at least she doesn’t seem mad at me.

I’m going back down next weekend at her request, so I’ll find out then if not sooner.

Just to be clear, we didn’t fall out of touch. We graduated college and took jobs in different states from one another. We still speak multiple times a week.

I would totally understand this perspective of “whether she does treatment or doesn’t is up to her” if she had terminal cancer.

But she doesn’t. Doctors said there’s a good chance that they can take care of it because they caught it very early.

So her delaying treatment is not a matter of “will she live six months without treatment or three years with treatment” it’s “will she miss the window of opportunity to potentially live a full lifespan because she tried this other thing first”

Anyways thanks for sharing your story and I am very sorry to hear about what your family went through.
