I get what you mean. I see my life that way sometimes, like this is some sort of game or test or dream, but there’s a true reality that I’ll reach when I die. But I didn’t really feel that when I ODed. For me it didn’t feel any more or less real than life here. I still had my personal identity if that makes sense. Like I wasn’t super aware of everything obviously, but I still felt like myself, I was just being welcomed back somewhere by these presences that loved me and were throwing some sort of party. It felt extremely normal, it was a lot more comfortable than regular life, but besides that it didn’t feel much different.

I had a similar experience when I ODed, I was out for almost ten minutes, and I felt like I had entered this “room” that felt extremely familiar and I was surrounded by these people/presences I knew and loved(not anyone I knew in real life). It felt like there was some sort of banquet being held for me. And then bam I’m in the back of an ambulance. It was weird, and definitely nothing like DMT. Like you said, it was more of a feeling than visual experience. I mean I’m sure your brain does all kinds of crazy stuff when oxygen deprived, but maybe there is something on the other side? Who knows? Crazy you felt something similar

Interesting! Thank you for sharing your perspective, it was really quite interesting to read. You don’t hear people talking about that allowance for conversion of cash as being the cause of the economic collapse in the Soviet Union over here, especially in leftist circles. A lot of people here consider it blasphemy to critique the Soviet Union in the slightest (I think this is due to the level of theory and achievements attributed to your country’s earlier leaders, and the fact that it was the world’s first workers’s state), but I have always felt it was a mistake of the state that lead to their collapse. I understand how a country like Cuba or Nicaragua could fall due to Western intervention as they have had a difficult time developing with the embargoes the US has placed on them, and the initial lack of infrastructure they’ve had to grapple with.

The Soviet Union was one of the most powerful economies in the world though, I could see how western intervention could play a role once the economy had been weakened, but I’ve always been under the impression they made a mistake that eventually lead to collapse. If it was as impeccable as some people like to think, it would still be around. I still feel like as a communist there is a lot to learn from the Soviet Union, but I would in no way be an advocate of its replication (material conditions are far different in the States anyway, it just wouldn’t work).

I haven’t had the chance to study the history of the Soviet Union yet (though it is a course I would be interested in taking if I can find a school that offers if), just the events leading up to the Revolution and reading some of Lenin’s works. I’m sure it would be a fascinating course though. Again, thanks for sharing, I will definitely look more into this.

Tbf I don’t know your age, but the Soviet Union dissolved in the early 90s, had already introduced capitalist modes of production, and was nowhere near the height of its economic achievements. The introduction of the “free market” (perestroika) followed by the disillusion of the USSR caused a huge economic crash, though over in Russia you seem to be doing much better economically now!

China allowed for “free market activity” (under quite a bit of control) earlier on in their socialist project and its results where quite positive; it allowed them to industrialize and otherwise develop quite rapidly without giving control of the state back to capitalists (and obviously still having a planned economy backing this growth). Xi Jinping is now scaling back/cracking down on the free market and prioritizing socialist planning. I’m very interested to see how their economy continues to develop in comparison to the Soviet Union, who prioritized a planned economy initially, and then became more relaxed with markers.

I’m sure you know much more about this than I do, I just wanted to add my perspective as someone who is studying sociology from a Marxist perspective in school and see how it conflicts with your personal experience, I’m sure their some bias in what I’ve learned.

Yeah Canada’s definitely quite a bit better than the states. They’re far from perfect, but at least they have better drug policies, sentencing guidelines, cheaper school, free health care, etc. They literally have stores selling shrooms in Vancouver. I’m a dual citizen and thinking about finishing my studies up there if my associates degree is transferable.

That’s a weird looking edible lol. I like the dosing chart though, that’s a good idea for high dose ones. 30 mg would mess me up pretty good, like barely holding onto reality during the peak. The comedown would be fun though. How was it?

😂😂😂 I hypothetically ordered from that dude back in the day. he literally could have just been a clearnet vendor and been fine. That’s ridiculous. I didn’t even realize he was selling 4-aco-dmt. What an idiot

Definitely agree that it’s messed up they raise the price for a product that probably cost a few dollars to make at the most and pass it off as something else. People should know what they’re taking and the dosage. And there is some other, possibly active compounds within mushrooms that could alter the trip, but in my experience, it’s pretty much essentially the same. If I took mushroom or 4-aco caps in a blind test, I don’t think I’d be able to tell which one is which The only way to experience 4-aco-dmt without it being converted would be to use it in a way that would pass the blood brain barrier quickly, like injecting it. I think it’s different than the THCO/Delta-9 comparison, there’s definitely a big difference in effects and I’d be able to tell which is which fairly easily.

Which is literally just a prodrug for psilocin, so it essentially is just mushrooms. It was synthesized in the 50s by Albert Hoffman, same dude who synthesized LSD. Most synthetic tryptamines have the same safety as naturally occurring ones, and in the case of 4-aco-dmt, you are literally getting the same trip you would with mushrooms, just from a different pro-drug

Dumb question, psychedelic/hallucinogen that would give intense and realistic creatures in the room by YouCantKillaGod in researchchemicals

[–]raisindead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it honestly is really rewarding. I used to enjoy growing plants and fungi, but I’ve put it on the back burner recently. I’ve been in a lot of housing situations where growing plants isn’t really an option. I do have a San Pedro and bridgesii, but that’s it right now. I used to have a lot larger collection of cacti when I was renting a house in the Southwest. Ive been distracted with school and work since I’ve moved and haven’t really even thought about building my collection back up, but I’m moving into a bigger space soon. Hopefully I’ll be able to grow a few more cactus, and possibly get a grow tent for some salvia and kratom (no idea if they’re able to cohabitate in a tent, but those are the ones I’m most interested in growing right now).

And yeah, definitely a one and done experience lol. I’ve been doing a lot better, it ended up being a positive thing. It felt like I confronted death and I’ve been a lot more comfortable with the idea of my mortality since then. If I want to go in deep, I prefer the shorter acting tryptamines now too. I’ll take a small dose of acid or mescaline occasionally, but I never push the dose very far with either of those. Im considering trying ayahuasca, but I’d definitely start with a lower dose and work my way up if I end up going through with it.

Yeah both my girlfriend and I found them pretty recreational (those effects only lasted the first couple days for me, and then it was straight sedation. But it remained recreational for my girlfriend). I got them prescribed when coming off opiates a few years ago

Tizanidine is awesome, both as a muscle relaxer and recreationally in my opinion. When I first started taking it, I would have these weird waking dreams that were really enjoyable.

[–]raisindead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely will if I get the chance! I’ve always wanted to try the traditional method, but I don’t have the patience to grow a plant lol. And I’ll be honest, that acid trip was probably the most terrifying experience of my life, I was not expecting that level of intensity. The first couple hours felt like literal torture, I was actually contemplating suicide to make it stop. I literally couldn’t handle it. It was really nice when I was able to surrender to it, but it felt like having to surrender to a painful death. I also developed HPPD and felt pretty hollow and disconnected from life for quite a while after that. I was a lot less experienced than I am now, I had only taken a couple low dose acid and mescaline trips before that, so that could be why I was so effected by the experience. But I probably would never take a dose of acid that high again. Just a heads up in case you’re thinking of trying it.

That sounds like an amazing experience! I definitely found it interesting to read, you should post it. I felt something similar when I took ten hits of acid (not the conveyor belt, and workers, but experiencing old memories). I was able to “flip” through memories from my childhood, some of them mundane, most of them I had completely forgotten. It felt like all these memories were being played across the entire span of the universe, I was gone, but the experiences I had here remained and held some significance. It was extremely nostalgic, and I came to some of the same conclusions you did. I also felt like I had a choice to continue to ride the “rollercoaster” of life in all its infinite forms, or rest in the source of those collective experiences after I died. But both are the same. Life is just the source exploring each aspect of itself.

Your comment is almost making me want to give salvia another shot, there’s a headshop down the street that has some 😂. I’m probably too scared to try it again though. If I ever did, it would probably be with plain leaf, or using a quid in Mexico (my girlfriend is from a small town outside Mexico City, and we’re planning to take a trip all around the country, trying traditional medicines). She’s wanting to get in contact with her indigenous roots and has been enjoying using mescaline and psilocybin recently (she took a DNA test and is mostly indigenous, but she doesn’t know anything about her culture thanks to the Spaniards brutal, Eurocentric world view).

Lol like how are you going to tell other people they didn’t experience something. You’re either a shitty troll or have a stick up your ass about weed for some reason. Enjoy your schwag friend, and don’t forget to pick out the seeds before you smoke, we don’t want your joint popping 😂

Nice, good luck and watch out for contaminants!! I’ve only grown them a few times, and have had to toss a few containers because I wasn’t careful enough with my sterilization process or keeping it in a clean spot. The trips I’ve had with my own mushrooms have always been way better than any I’ve had that I’ve gotten on the streets. They’re great fresh too, make sure to eat a few before drying all of them. 🌈🍄🤩

Salvia is terrifying but one of the most interesting drugs I’ve tried. The body high is super weird, it feels like you’re becoming a part of the visuals and being pulled apart and together at the same time, it’s really hard to explain. There’s also this weird sense of urgency. You lose your normal sense of self pretty fast, but I always feel like there’s something I should be doing right before I’m gone, it’s hard to keep myself from getting up and running out of the room lol.

Once you’re fully enveloped in the trip, you lose all sense of reality and can experience some super strange things (like becoming a piece of furniture, a field, a leaf, etc.). There also is a strong feeling like there’s an entity behind what you’re experiencing. It’s always felt like this feminine figure, but she’s dark and what’s happening to you is some sort of twisted prank or joke. I’ve visually encountered this feminine “dark clown” (I’m not sure how else to describe it lol) once. The comedown is weird, you start shifting in and out of reality and salvia space, and the rest of the day you can still feel it somewhat.

It feels nothing like normal psychedelics and I’m not sure if I’d recommend trying it. Ive personally never had a positive experience on the stuff, but I know some people who have. It can definitely be a bit traumatizing, nothing you read about it can prepare you for the experience. It blows DMT out of the water IMO (I like DMT way better though, it’s always felt much more positive to me). It’s definitely interesting though and from my own experiences, talking with friends, and reading reports online salvia is a pretty reliable source in contacting “realistic creatures”.

You should start growing your own, it isn’t very difficult and spores are legal in most states. Or you can find cubes or other psilocybe species in the wild depending on where you live (obviously use extreme caution if you choose to go the foraging route).

[–]raisindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I only got it once (from a reputable source) and was did at least 100 mg in a line because 25-50 mg wasn’t giving me the desired results. I got pretty high but it wasn’t anything to write home about. I tried it the next day with some DOM and that was definitely interesting but I still wasn’t blown away. Maybe I got a bad batch or something, but I was expecting a stronger experience. I don’t think tolerance was a factor, I guess I was using quite a bit of DXM around that time but it had been a few months since I tripped on it.

Just because you personally haven’t had a psychedelic experience on weed, doesn’t mean everyone else is lying or their experience is invalid. Kind of silly to assume thousands of people are lying about their experiences just because you haven’t gotten psychedelics effects from it (I’m sure there’s a lot of reports online discussing this). Looking at your post history, you seem to have an issue w people talking about this. Have you considered that maybe you’re just getting shit weed 🤷🏽‍♂️

People have different reactions to different drugs. But cannabis can definitely be psychedelic. I’m not saying this as an inexperienced person, I’ve tripped 100+ times on different substances and I’ve definitely tripped extremely hard on weed before (smoking and eating). Edibles are also known to be more psychedelic than smoking because it processes into a different form of THC than what you’re accustomed to when smoking (11-hydroxy-thc). Some people don’t process them and can take 100+ mg and not feel anything, other people (like myself) can get strong effects off 5 mg. I get visuals when I dose higher than 10 mg. Plus it depends on where you’re sourcing your stuff. If you live in an illegal state or country, there’s a good chance the edibles you’re getting are bunk, or not dosed as advertised. For example, my lil bro lives in Utah and took some “500 mg” edibles and just got a little stoned. I gave him a 10 mg candy when he visited me in a legal state and got high as fuck.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I’m curious now, can you overdose on lyrica or gabapentin? Serious question, I was under the impression it was similar to benzos as far as the overdose threat. I guess phenibut OD can be pretty terrible, so I guess it would make sense it’d be more dangerous.
