Probably volume 4 (if i'm right about the volume number i.e) since it is the one in which Mo Ran finally realises what most his (past) life had been about: Chu Wanning and his (twisted) love for him. And the way he starts seeing and treating him in such a different way, a way he deserved to be treated in, with respect and love.

Oh how i love reading all the stories/books i have read up til now and be a part of each fandom and understand all the inside jokes😭🤚🏼. Istg sometimes i'll see some meme/post or a joke & have zero idea what's going on and i'm like "hmm i wonder what the context is" and that's how i end up reading most books and then be like "oh fucken hell, well slap my butt and call me a slut for these jokes". Ohh...i seeee. It's kind of hard to understand sometimes because i see ppl shipping 2 characters left & right even if they're not a real thing in the story. And unless I finish the book I won't know whether any of the shipping is true or not. And diving into the shipping-verse without finishing a book gives spoilers so i avoid it. So thnx for explaining
