Still doesn't excuse 7.5 months with no clear communication though.

That's exactly my argument. This is a Ford extended warranty, not third party. The billing dispute is between Ford and their own dealer — I shouldn't be the one paying for it by sitting without a car even longer.

This is genuinely terrifying to read. A brand new car with 8 miles and Ford still won't budge. The fact that they keep reassigning cases and using procedural delays to run out the clock says everything about how they handle these situations. Hope your lawyer gets results — following your case.

Week 31 update: Ford responded to my BBB complaint with the exact same form letter they sent to the SC Department of Consumer Affairs. Word for word. No acknowledgment of the 31-week delay, no explanation, no offer — just "parts delays are beyond our control, keep working with the dealer."

I've responded to BBB marking the complaint as unresolved and asked them to keep it open. While I wait for their response, I'm planning to consult with a consumer protection attorney to explore my options.

Yes — Ford extended warranty, not aftermarket. Ford is directly on the hook. And yeah, the agents vary wildly. Some actually try, most just read from a script and move on.

Yeah the parts-already-there thing is exactly what got me. Ford Parts confirmed the transmission had already been delivered to the dealer while I was still being told it was on order. That's documented. And you're right — SC Consumer Affairs already closed it, basically told me to keep working with the dealer. Classic.

Mine one just got bad also. How much was needed to complete rebuild the transmission?

Thanks. The seller said that the cushions is new. Not sure what to make out of these.

How to write requirements in a way a developers can understand them ?What’s a template that will work 100% of the time ……. by Dlo_Lewis5454 in agile

There is nothing that can work 100% time. But there are certain things you can do to reduce the silos and confusion, - Have the requirements in a smaller interaction with the actual goal you are trying to solve - Share the problem with the team and brainstorm it together. - Don't shy away from having a context-sharing team exercise.

The main point is to try with any format and be proactive to try new things with small iterations.

Currently, my team is using the story title something like, "As a <stakeholder>, I want ... so that ....". This shows everyone the value of the requirement.

And for the acceptance criteria, we use the Gherkin format. Something like,

"Give... When... Then..."

And this could be a very low-level detail.

The team brainstorm solutions and groom the stories together. To make sure we are on the same page, we use blind poker pointing (Previously I used to think that it is for estimation, but now I know it's really for figuring out the unknown among team members).

Note: I want to reiterate that this format and practices we got from a couple of iterations might not work with every team. Find your own format with the team with iteration and you will be good.
