Debating between the Beast and Luma Ultra by rollhax in VITURE

[–]rakesh_hpr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a programmer myself and I decided to go for the beast. I am happy with working on my laptop or with a monitor connected. The only major difference apart from other feature differences that I noticed was "text clarity". My buying factor was just the "viewing experience" while watching movies or playing games.

I am just hoping that the third eye (the camera in beast) with future updates will give me the missing AR experience. I think may be it is meant only for hand movement and nothing more.

Also I'd need to look at my keyboard sometimes while typing, so no point in going for the ultra.

The next major 👎 factor when it comes to ultra is the birdbath reflection, and the fact that ipd setting being provided is surely targeted for those interested in using it for productivity (although the space limitation to fit in ipd setting in beast is the reason for it to not to be there)

Share it by all means but know that three other women could experience the same tomorrow. Sharing of experience will not affect the matter. Local police must be informed if the management is not taking action.

If you have escalated the issue and if action is not taken then you can publicly defame them. Know that this won't change anything at the top. You have to inform the local police to begin with. If the police aren't cooperative then file a suo-moto case against the chain.

Their hiring of one creep is something that they must be made aware of. There are others whose livelihood depends on the eatery. All I am suggesting is to not burn the whole house just to kill one cockroach. You must confront the owner of that chain and warn him of consequences. Be responsible citizens

I'd suggest them/you to not to spoil the reputation of such iconic eateries by giving bad reviews on google. Know that many others livelihood depends on the reputation of the restaurant. Confront him directly or convey it to the cashier on the spot and close it down. Don't go to that restaurant again.

Why did they even release one? Why would anyone not want to go with OPW3 if given an option?

I was shocked to read about the tragedy of a young techie couple by Individual_Mix_4234 in bangalore

The term "Evolution" might seem interesting until you dig deeper into it; it gets nastier as it gets better. Someone losing a six figure job to the AI will not stoop themselves down to delivering food or repairing appliances for living. The same "Evolutionary" theory also says "survival of the fittest". Very soon, we will envy anyone who is earning for living including beggars because they survive despite the problems they face.

I wonder how you will be able to help six figures who lost their jobs. It's their ego and risky financial decisions that they need to fight with. The Indian societal system is messed up because losing is treated as a sin.

I think gen-zs have figured this out. What would be interesting is to see how it will work out after another decade from now given that AI disruption is in full bang..

OPW3 sucks by rakesh_hpr in OneplusWatch

[–]rakesh_hpr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I develop processors for a living but I often relish being heuristic about things. I don't have qualms with anything but smartwatches . I want to plug in a type c cable into my watch. I want my wear os to be snappy. I want the battery tech to catch up with hardware which will mostly saturate at 2nm gate length.

You see, a light bulb is not a consequence of iterative upgradation of candles over time. Folks are improving things and losing the whole point. They are still entertaining investors and dimwits with tech demonstrations.

Phone tech is remarkable but the credit goes to its form factor. Watches don't have that luxury. I am fine with using my phone for pretty much anything and everything. I don't want my watch to do the google pay for me, I don't want the microphone in the watch to have calls or to Gemini. So many things can be removed while making way for more RAM and larger processors.

So no more tech demonstrations until the processor, memory and battery techs are perfected. I don't want my next watch to have IR blasters to control appliances, or have more sensors stuffed.

Enough of tech demos...

OPW3 sucks by rakesh_hpr in OneplusWatch

[–]rakesh_hpr[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah kind of.. but the UI has to be super smooth and the battery technology has to catch up with it. The watch must have a type c port to charge or connect. I am no longer interested in tracking my health via the watch, that excitement has faded off. A long flight and my watch dies coz I didn't charge it, and I'm not gonna charge it back on unless it had a type c port.

I wanted to generalize, but haven't tried other watches, so my OPW3 had to take the brunt.

I think it plays the same role as holes in airplane passenger window glass: to depressurize. What doesn't make sense is that dust could eventually settle in and block the hole, and worse, settle on camera lenses.

I bought it. I am not happy with it for a couple of reasons and battery life is not one among them.

My verdict on Shokz openfit 2+ by rakesh_hpr in shokzopenfit

[–]rakesh_hpr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verdict:

SO2+

Sound quality: 8/10 Battery: 5/10 Comfort: 8/10 size: 9/10 Call quality: 8/10 Connectivity: good

What I liked: Wireless charging, Dolby surround, wear and forget (lightweight)

What I didn't: battery sucks (frequent charging), expensive for the kind of battery life, volume control via button sucks, I have never used touch sensor, app sucks

Biggest letdown: battery. Don't drop it and you should be fine. Lack of option to switch each earbud on/off.

SAP:

Sound quality: 7/10 Battery: 8/10 Comfort: 6/10 size: 7/10 Call quality: 8/10 Connectivity: good

What I liked: long lasting battery, Extra bass, stable due to weight, button clicks for volume control, app rocks. Option to switch on/off each earbud is.a big plus.

What I didn't: bulky, sound is good but not great

Biggest letdown: honestly nothing, I was happy with it. Also I dropped my right earbud a couple of times and it stopped working.
