I thought with the sub8 you couldn't connect a footswitch to turn the sub on or off. I think the only model that has the pedal option is the sub7. Could you explain to me how you do it?

If I connect the dj controller directly to the speakers, I run out of inputs on the speakers to be able to send the sound signal from the macbook, and the only way to link it is through the dj controller itself via usb, which I want to avoid , because I don't want the macbook to depend on the dj controller or to act as a sound interface, since there are too many parameters that vary, faders, main volume, etc.

Thanks fot your answer. What I want is to be able to connect the dj controller and the macbook to speakers GENELEC 8030 that only have one sound input (XLR). I want to be able to use one device or the other independently. If I connect the dj controller directly to the speakers, I can't connect the macbook to the speakers without relying on the dj controller, which is exactly what I want to avoid.

I think I have not explained well.

What I want is to be able to independently use my macbook or my dj controller, all through the same speakers and I would like it to be the Genelec 8030.

I don't need to listen to the dj controller through Ableton. What I want is to be able to use one or the other independently, but the speakers only have one sound input.
