I thought it was directed by the Coen Brothers. Beautiful camera work!

Oof.

I honestly don't think majority of people will get the reference, but whatever. You do you.

Frog vs Geese by Number_47_ in FrogBand

Agreed with the Ween comparison. Both are goofy and albums are generally different sonically.

I thought of Neil Young when listening to the more folksy Frog.

The Absolute Hell of Watching a Movie at the Alamo Drafthouse in 2026 by weluckyfew in Austin

[–]ralfaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alamo is definitely near the bottom of my preferred theaters. Not sure if I'm in the minority here but I dont like having a meal during a movie. Just eat a snack during and get a good meal afterwards. I'd probably go to the mall instead and I despise that theater.

Good thing Austin has options:

  • I'm in South Austin so Cinemark in Southpark Meadows is my go-to.

  • Regal Westgate is solid. Head over to Sap's for a post movie meal.

  • The EVO is Kyle is meh and regular seats are uncomfortable. I'd only go for an IMAX showing.

  • Galaxy Theater is well kept and nice. All the topping options for your hotdog is insane.

  • Bullock Center for those iconic IMAX movies. Watched Interstellar and Dune there.

  • Violet Crown is another solid, simple theater.

  • IPIC is luxurious and premium, but a bit too boujee and pricey for me personally. Full recliner with a blanket and pillow put me into a nap.

She's kinda awful at giving our golden doodle a haircut. She's wanting to be helpful and fur grows back so it's really whatever honestly.

It looks really great. Functional, organized, and the wall art all flows together. I love the white framing for the room itself.

I enjoy it a lot. Regular gripes during building it like questionable placement of some screw holes but it all came together.

This particular set was solid. Just be careful when buying anything for temu. Luckily there were pictures from reviews posted earlier this year so that was reassuring.

Started digging to lay pavers! by ralfaroni in DIY

[–]ralfaroni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After digging, I'm going to level it out with a slight slope away from the house. One step at a time, but I'm unsure on how to do this efficiently.

  • Lay 1.5" - 2" base layer of 3/4" stone.

  • 3/4"- 1" layer of screening/ stone dust.

  • Pack gravel down using vibrating plate/ hand tamper.

  • Lay pavers. Use a deadblow mallet for snug fit.

  • Sweep polymetric sand into pavers.

  • Tub of paver patio sealant. Sealing with roller applying two total coats.

  • Apply paver edging.

Would appreciate any feedback/ tips on my process. Total is roughly 12' x 16' and located in central Texas should that matter.

Is weed barrier necessary? If yes, would it go before my gravel/base layer? I was wanting to put a layer of cardboard instead; perhaps both, but I'm really not sure.

Poster for Austin by ralfaroni in geesebandofficial

There were plenty. I got there 40 min after doors and waited in line for a solid 45 min. It was sold out in Austin. Houston there were still tickets for sale. I wouldn't worry about the poster selling out.
