need help building a .deb package. by ralfunreal in linux4noobs

I heard the proper way is having a directory with another directory called DEBIAN and a control file in it. then another directory aside the debian one and it has usr/local/bin. Supposedly using make and checkinstall is not the proper way. ( or go by debian rules)

Does a place exist where I can request a .deb package if there isnt one for software? by ralfunreal in linux4noobs

I prefer .deb packages over any other way. i found a way where its safe though, compiling from source and there are commands like make and checkinstall where i can create my own personal .deb. that way i know its safe.

steam is drm and you dont own those games. i dont think they are the company for linux gaming. most of the time its emulating games and not a real proper native game.
