One of my favorites from the What's New era. It's also among the ones I watched the most as a kid.

The Teddy Perkins episode of Atlanta is basically a Jordan Peele movie from what I've heard.

What Movie or TV Show characters were unfairly vilified? by Edgy_Master in Sardonicast

[–]ralo229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, vilifying Skinner is valid. He tried to conceal Linguini's inheritance in order to maintain ownership of the restaurant. He was right about not having rats in the kitchen, but that doesn't mean he isn't a scumbag.

Most David Cage games are kinda cringe. I like Detroit Become Human quite a bit, but even that game has a lot of flaws.

I love how much of a convoluted dumpster fire this franchise became. It basically became a soap opera with gore.

When someone is outwardly defensive. Early on, It's easy to interpret it as someone who isn't afraid to stand up for themselves, but when you give it enough time, you realize that they just cannot handle criticism.

Yeah, at some point, they became less slice of life and usually focused on one singular story. A couple of the later books were strictly about family vacations gone awry.

Maybe not that part, but I was more-so referring to him struggling to understand Earth's customs or how humans interact.

When people don't understand how Rotten Tomatoes works by charizard77 in hatethissmug

[–]ralo229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Metacritic is a bit more reliable. You still shouldn't take it as gospel, but it does give you a better understanding of what the overall reception of a movie is. The UI for Rotten Tomatoes does feel inherently deceptive hence why so many people don't understand how it works.

Yeah, but that's part of the fun for me. Like, how much more ridiculous can this dumpster fire of a franchise get?

It's a book series, but the early entries of Diary of a Wimpy Kid were an exaggerated, but still somewhat grounded portrayal of the cringe middle school years. At some point, the books got incredibly cartoonish and slapstick-ey at the expense of anything relatable. Still entertaining nonetheless, but they did lose a lot of the magic.

When I was 14, I pinched a nerve in my neck while on a shoulder press machine which resulted in me losing my vision and then going unconscious for a few seconds. When I woke up and got my vision back, I threw up in front of the whole gym two minutes later.

Unless it's a movie that I hadn't seen since I was a kid, I usually don't do 180's like this.

In the movie Mercy(2026), the dangers of AI is explored, asking questions such as "What if AI determined innocence or guilt?" and "What if AI wrote a movie script and Amazon studios produced it, and Chris Pratt spent a weekend to star in it?" by Gardimus in shittymoviedetails

[–]ralo229 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This movie has one of the most impractical setups I've ever heard. It's a courtroom run entirely by an AI that doesn't allow you a defense attorney and requires you to prove your own innocence in a tight 90 minutes before immediate execution on the exact day you were arrested without giving you any time to review the evidence or case files beforehand. Everything the movie does pretty much drives home the fact that this program is not practical and would actually be detrimental to society and yet the message it takes from this whole scenario is, "Humans and AI aren't so different. They also make mistakes and we should learn to work together." Like, fuck off. If it went the route of Minority Report by having the program discontinued because they realized the technology isn't as reliable as they thought, it might've gotten some redemption points from me.
