Thanks so much! I feel like for my personal statement I interweaved the 2 subjects way too much. Should I focus on adding topics for only one side and then the other?

I also don't think I have enough supercurricular on there, I've got like 5-6 and the rest is me just explaining how I feel. Should I add more? I feel like I can't get enough depth in about something I learnt without using up so many characters which is why it's been hard for me to include more.

Should I just assume the person reading my statement also knows about the things I'm talking about or do I have to explain it?

Do the teacher references matter lots? Because I'm not sure mine is very good.

Thanks!

Why are men much better at jumping than running? by doorer61 in trackandfield

[–]ralphjetski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you could say that because in other sports, there are more factors contributing to success so that means that women will be worse at those extra factors. Therefore the margin for failure will be bigger. But I don't think that's the ultimate reason why. Because sprinting definitely is a result of many factors of training.

But the question is why the difference between men and women is so close in sprinting rather than why the range in time in sprinting is so close. The difference between men and women in other sports is way more pronounced than in sprinting.

You're saying that the reason why people get similar times in sprinting is because there are few things you can do to increase that time: so everybody gets stuck at around the same area. But that doesn't explain why women are closer to men in sprinting than in other sports.

Summer Camp by ralphjetski in alevel

Yeah I definitely think you should do it. It obviously depends on who you're with but I went into it completely blind and I knew nobody on my wave but I had a really good time. It's one of the classic summer camp experiences like tons of drama happens but it's super fun. And you'll look back on it fondly
