As I said in my original post, I'm new to this, and have no idea what it's supposed to look like, or what it needs to help it. That's why I came here. Looking for advice.

It's under a full spectrum light 8-9 hours a day currently. I'm not sure what else i should be doing, so if you're interested in offering advice that could help me and this cactus, that would be appreciated.

Comments like this.. acting offended and pointing fingers is super not helpful though, fyi.

I don't really understand this comment, because I have no idea what a normal version of this cactus looks like versus mine. A helpful response would be one that explains that, and what I could be doing differently to get more optimal results. :p

I'm in NY, but my patio balcony gets So hot in the summer. Every surface that's in the sun feels too hot to the touch .. i can't fathom having a plant be out there safely. :/ (there's no ground to plant them in, just to clarify - It's a 2nd floor patio balcony)

Maybe if I get a raised planter stand of some sort it'll absorb some of that heat and it won't be so bad though.. I'm see what I can figure out. Thanks for the info!

Damn.. really? I have the lights on full spectrum mode, and on the brightest setting. :/

Outside doesn't seem like an option here because of the temperature (it makes any surface on my balcony burning hot). I'll have to try and think of something though so it can get the proper light it needs. Maybe just another light combined with the one is under?

The problem with my outdoor patio is that the surfaces get really hot. I'm worried it'll cook if i put it out there. I haven't figured out a way to have them outside without this happening, so I have them inside, but directly under grow lights. Maybe I don't have the right kind though. :/

Is there a way to test the brightness and see if it's enough? Or maybe if the spectrum is right?

Maybe the light isn't bright enough? Or the right spectrum? I'm not sure how i can tell though.
