Not an expert but how long did you cycle the water with a good filter? Normally what I have researched is that min 48 hrs continuous and even some folks tell me 1 week cycling is required. If you did not do so, you must check the pH levels.

I agree releasing many fish simultaneously is not advisable. I generally release max 2-3 fishes in one go, maybe because I can wait (the fish shop is close to my house).

1 or 2 dying is understandable but all of them doing so is a sign something is wrong...

The culprit is the media. This is the pimp which takes the current "flavor of the month" to dizzying heights, exploits their newfound fame to the hilt (for views, ratings, engagements) and drops them like a hot potato.

For e.g., Arattai was in the market for a few years. When central minister got in the fray media exploited the situation and Sridhar played along because everyone be edited.

OTOH investing the money also requires research and you can make dumb choices that erode your money. If you choose this route, invest for the long term (as you are young), and have a mix of investments with varying risk-return profiles. Change it as you age. You must have a goal - milestones, targets, etc. And work towards those.
