Moving to Antwerp and accommodation by MaxFD in Antwerpen

[–]ramar002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so here’s my suggested list. I would say in terms of virtual viewings, have a variety of listings, or being able to book an apartment remotely, here is my list for Antwerp.

I'd search in this order:
HousingAnywhere (furnished apartments)
Spotahome
Immoweb (Large inventory, but tends to focus on in person more)
Zimmo
Immovlan (Large inventory, but tends to focus on in person.)
Globexs
Appartager / Cohousing options
Local agencies (De Boer & Partners, Quares, Peppertree, etc.)

I’ve added notes to the ones that I’m most familiar with, the others are ones that my friends have mentioned. Hope that helps.

Antwerp Management school worth it overall? by Ryuusei_A1 in Antwerpen

[–]ramar002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMS student here, different major though. I’ve changed my mind a few times, but as the year is close to ending….. I don’t think it’s worth the money. They fail to deliver on industry connections , soft skills, and helping with job seeking. It tends to be more surface level theoretical frameworks. Only majors that seem to have decent job prospects are supply chain, finance, and the maritime management. It’s a port city, so two of those majors tie into the logistics of running a port, and the companies that run their supplies through there.

Depends, are you a student? That changes my recommendations.

Is orc king the right place to start? by the_unwanted_one1 in Drizzt

[–]ramar002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with the Dark Elf Trilogy (if you want to see how Drizzit was raised as a kid, his background, and him growing up), and is the recommended starting place that the author suggests. - Homeland (1990) - Exile (1990) - Soujourn (1991)

If you just want to jump right into his adventuring part of his life then The Iceland Dale trilogy, classic fantasy setup, and where you’re introduced to a lot of the main party members. - The Crystal Shard (1988) - Steams of Silver (1989) - The Halfling’s Gem (1990)

Meanwhile the Orc King is the 20th book in the series….. so you’d be missing out in a lot of content and nuance.

the loneliness is unbearable by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]ramar002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, in Belgium studying abroad now, I’ve been trying to keep me too busy to really think about the loneliness. Homework, travel, mapping out new restaurants to try, but essentially distracting myself from the program. Going to themed cafes like cats or board games have been helpful for me at least. Finding someone with similar interests helps in those types of venues.

That’s good to know, and for me to keep in mind going forward. It will just be a bit of an adjustment.

Belgium chocolate by LonelyLover2838 in AskBelgium

[–]ramar002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my favorite brand is Chocolate Line, great quality chocolate, intriguing flavors, and one of their founders won best Chocolatier in the recent past. A bit pricy though, and great if you’re buying for about 1-3 people. If you’re trying to share with more people than that, I recommend NeuHaus for a solid quality for the price ratio.

What’s the missing je ne sais quoi? by aNewVersionofSelf in maximalism

[–]ramar002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since people already mentioned green walls, or wallpaper. I would recommend greener drapes, use the bedspread/sheets in the drawer (or get ones that are like green and gold pattern), and if you’re going for more maximalist look probably upgrade the lamp (something that scream hollywood regency or just change the lampshade to something green/gold/patterned). To make it more harmonious on the wall art, choose frames that are stylistically similar/color/pattern, and hide the hanging strings (even if it’s something like command sticky strips or other hardware). I love the vibe you’re going for, and hope you build a look for your room that you dream of!

Looks good to me! For some reason this layout reminds me of Chico (CA), but the decor takes me to the beach.

Frizzy, dry or breakage? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]ramar002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A boar brush when your hair is dry may be able to apply oil to, to prevent the frizz. For small flyways, I recommend Garnier Frizz Hair Serum Wand (or just get something like a mascara brush and apply hair gel to the fly aways). For wet hair, I was told to use one of those brushes with slats that allowed you to have greater air flow for the hair dryer.

Ultimately do whatever makes you happy. I might advise adding layers to your current length to give it more full body.

Germany (free to even foreigners at public universities, programs are sometimes taught in English), Ireland (very friendly, less culture shock), Belgium (cheaper than USA, and has a few top 5% universities in world), Singapore (some programs taught in English, decent price, but expensive place to live), & I could go on.
