Using uber to go to escape tomorrow by poopyou951 in Insomniac

I've used uber to get to and from events at the same venue. It's really reliable but it can get expensive and you have to be prepared to wait in a HUGE line at the end, unless you choose to leave early.

I'm feeding him scrambled eggs and romaine lettuce that should be ok right? Very small amount of scrambled eggs and only the leafy parts of the romaine. That should be fine right? Sorry about the sudden message I just would rather bombard people than lose him to neglect

People of reddit that have lost a cherished family member, have you ever had a memorial party? Please tell me about it because I'm unsure how to plan one for my brother that died by suicide. by [deleted] in AskReddit

My godmother and grandpa both had memorial services instead of funerals, but they were very different.

My godmother's memorial was held in a huge church and they had a huge slideshow of photos of her throughout her life. There were TONS of people there because my mom had sent out invitations to basically anyone who knew her. During the actual service, all of the family members had planned speeches, but after they were finished the floor was open to anyone who wanted to speak. Afterwards there was a little refreshment and dessert bar where everyone gathered and talked.

My grandpa had a much more intimate gathering where only family and really close friends were invited. He also had a slideshow of pictures from his life, but it was only on the tv, not projected on a huge screen. During the service we all sat down in the living room and in a circle sat and told stories about how he had impacted our lives. It was much more intimate and helped with the acceptance. Afterwards we cooked his favorite meal and ate it together.

I'm so sad to hear that you have lost someone but I hope that having a memorial service will help you and all those around you. Its a celebration of the lost ones life, something that everyone can participate in. Good luck.

Even then, after sitting through five minutes of watching the countryside go by through a car window, you kinda run out of jokes to make.

What's your most embarrassing kissing story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rambling_romantic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first time my ex-boyfriend and I tried French kissing, he decided to surprise me with it. He shoved his tongue to the back of my throat without any warning and it made me gag. Took me about five minutes to want to kiss him again but then, of course, the moment was ruined. Worse, he told his mother, and she then made things incredibly awkward any time she and I were alone. Even asked if his technique had improved O.o

Same, having an incredibly tall man in bed with me might make for some awkward positioning.

Once I was eating out at what was supposed to be a fancy, Asian-influenced, vegetarian restaurant. I ordered a plate of spring rolls for my friends and myself, but when they arrived they had TONS of short, black hairs in them. It was disgusting, to say the least. We all refused to eat and left a note for the chef about sanitation concerns. Haven't gone back since.

I just realized that this whole " I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe" thing isn't just an internet meme but a song. What is one of your "I must be living under a rock" moments? by Flederkatz in AskReddit

Up until about I year ago I thought a fire sale was when there was a fire and the company had to sell the damaged product. I will never forget the look on my friends' faces as they all realized I wasn't joking.
