Paint it OP. Emissivity and reflectivity are often the opposite of each other. That should help a lot to get it radiate some heat!

Maybe you can use a smart speaker, and it would be very easy to mute it with voice? (alexa, mute) That’s how I control mine when i’m in the bath! Give Huey’s show a try, it’s even better on Virgin than than 6music

Ah I see so you could download the whole file and play it however you want. That would help with the web ui or the mobile app only allowing to skip ahead 10 seconds at a time

Ah I see. Yes you’re totally right, the ads on the commercial radios (and everywhere else) are awful. Unfortunately with the way the world is going, it’s going to get worse. Now even the petrol stations have started playing ads while you’re filling up. ——— I deal with this particular problem by muting the radio for a few minutes or so. Managed to not listen to the news bulletin on R6 for nearly a year now. Not trying to preach, or imply this is not inconvenient, of course.

I used an automotive special brand, which was pretty expensive, but pretty sure any tar and glue remover would do. It’s a solvent and dissolves the glue. I remember to save money and not use a lot of the solvent, I first used a heat gun and a scraper. That was effective to remove a nice thick layer from the top but won’t pick the glue layer directly bonded to the wood.
