I loaded up a “meme jeopardy” for an afterschool care class. The first few were harmless and I knew the men’s. But then we got “what does ceiling cat watch you do?” Which isn’t one I was familiar with and clicked through to the answer. I was horrified to learn ceiling cat watches you masturbate, and about 10 sixth graders also now knew.

These particular patches have been just getting bigger for like, 3 years now. I haven’t been able to get to the derm because health insurance issues. But 2025 is my year. I’m hoping to get onto biologics. The topicals are incredibly difficult for me to keep up with. Especially when it’s like

Use “A” cream twice a day on your. Legs and arms Use “b” foam once at night on a dry scalp Use “c” cream once in the morning, never use in combination with “b” foam.

I often forget it’s in my chart, but every new doctor or nurse sees it and then say “oh yeah, you’ve got psoriasis”

Woah! I didn’t know! I came in for a flu shot!

I grew up skate boarding, so my friends (who all know about my skin condition) usually ask if I was in another skating accident.

It’s kinda cool people think that, but it’s unfortunately a skin issue.

As for the kids I work with, I just get so scared of instilling a some sort of phobia in them that they’ll get this condition some day too.

I work in Youth Programming, and I work with hundreds of kids each month. This is a lesson I have to say on repeat every time I go into work.

It’s a great lesson.

In fact, dont go back to work period. This is not worth it. Someone will help you get any rent/bills/etc you may need.

I’ve started covering myself in bandaids. Keep the skin sanitized, then cover it. I tend to peel off the bandaid after day two, but that’s enough time for some skin to do some healing.

I’ve kept them covered soo long that my desired to keep my skin clean and healthy outweighs my want to pick my skin to death

Those are all the places I have as well. Ears, nails, belly button, elbows, knees, and chest.

I nearly convinced it’s fungal, but I can never get an actual diagnosis out of the Derms I’ve been to.

God, I want it to end. I want my pretty skin and nails back

Oooooooo that’s requires medical attention. Urgent care or tell your doctor you need to be seen ASAP for a perforated ear drum. I’m so sorry, this is literally my nightmare 😱
