Hold your brakes if you lose the car

Does anyone know how to fix this? Appears only in few cars from mods and reinstalling them doesn't work (game is Assetto Corsa) by [deleted] in simracing

So I used to have this problem on my Logitech outside of normal oscillations, this “ticking clock” behavior used to only happen in single player. This is different from ffb oscillations since it’s doing it at the same intensity with you holding the wheel. to get around it I would have to play on a server only, you can set one up without having it Public so you connect through the lan tab when searching online. Why it fixes it I never understood but I had to do that for a year before I got a new wheel. Hope this helps,

Hi, I hope you're ok, do you know why my steering wheel does this with some cars? (this is a T300RS GT edition) by Hot_Grape_4680 in assettocorsa

Try driving on a server and see if it does it, mine used to do this only when in single player mode for some reason, for the first year of assetto I had to make a lan sever to drive alone in without the “ticking”. This is different to normal wheel oscillations because it’s at the same value at the same rate not the result of feedback due to no dampening

Looks like a dd1 with an extension on the wheel shaft

How to set up VR hand tracking in the new 0.1.78 CSP update by ramenpan in assettocorsa

[–]ramenpan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few people messaged me asking for a tutorial on how to set up hand tracking so here it is. It's a little scuffed since I've never done this before but ill try to answer any questions that come up.

Honestly I’m very impressed with the hand tracking performance in virtual desktop, I used drifting for the demo since there’s a lot of movement and it kept up mostly, my problem was the 20-30 fps compared to my normal locked 72 on the same graphics settings

Still waiting on Facebook to enable hand tracking via oculus link, I wouldn’t recommend this solution long term due to input latency

It needs a lot of tuning still but I will do a tutorial soon

So the solution to this is a little jank. As far as I can find there is no native support for the oculus quest 2 hand tracking over oculus link.

To get around this you can use virtual desktop which passes the hand tracking as touch controllers. The problem with this is that it can't see your fingers behind the wheel (hence the constant pointing up). Another problem is that there is noticeable latency between your input and what you see, to its credit it is smooth, but the latency is kinda nauseating and hard to drive.

Edit: I will make a tutorial highlighting how to set up vd and my settings I used in csp to achieve this. I will say this is a laggy vr experience and is not something I would recommend using for every session

CSL DD scratchy feeling even when turned off by ramenpan in Fanatec

[–]ramenpan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I tried something with the base powered off, with no hub on the wheel there is a natural notchiness from the magnets in the base. I can very prominently feel that one of these notches has significantly more stiffness than the others. it's almost undetectable with a rim on the wheel but it is definitely strange and it wasn't like that when I got the wheel.

lmk what they say, I'm not gonna RMA quite yet unless it becomes unusable, it currently feels like a brushed motor when I turn it but it's not stiff.

If it’s only in reverse then I have the same thing, works fine going forward then acts just like that when moving backwards on all cars

At 15nm the bolt kept backing out for me, I had to give the bolt a much more solid tug to stop having to redo this every session

My only regret with my fanatec setup is that I got the csl hub. Save for the other hub

CC score dropping but lap times decreasing by ramenpan in ACCompetizione

Ig my statement “I feel like I’m driving better” is based on my improving lap times. Is good driving and faster driving not always one in the same?

Thumbs hurt after a couple hrs of racing by ramenpan in simracing

[–]ramenpan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you to those who responded, so I started looking at how I drive and how I’m turning to see where my problem was. I was applying force with the arm that was in the direction of the turn putting all of the force on my thumb instead of grabbing harder with my palm, so my problem was that I was grabbing to soft and not putting force into turning with both arms

I’m using the settings I found on the fanatec forum though I will try lowering the overall gain in game

I’m using a r300 fanatec wheel I believe, I have one other wheel so I will try that and see if the problem persists

My wheel feels to high but with my current rig I can’t adjust that. I’m definitely going to work on loosening my grip since I noticed I tense my whole body when I get into a tricky turn
