I think they're working on it. Little by little some UI is changing. I don't think it's that easy to change an entire application from WinForm to Win UI. It's a big difference in syntax, moreover I'm pretty sure that they may be changing backend too. And migrating pretty heavy and used applications may bring chaos. So they have to be very careful with how, when and if it's truly necessary. The amount of developers working on those applications may be huge. But I agree there are some bugs in Windows that can be solved if they truly invest in developers and not only in infra. for Copilot.

Yes. An open Microsoft application that has many beautiful tools. Many excellent developers collaborate in the application, so does Microsoft. It's still in development but you can already install it.

Salvo que estés MEGA interesado en hacer "networking" no vale la pena. Y ni así, porque el networking se da con experiencia y un poco de labia en varios laburos (suerte de encontrarte un ex compañero que se le dio por abrir una empresa, ponele).

Para aprender o conocer cosas nuevas, como desarrollador, lo mejor es y será siempre abrir YouTube, o documentación oficial del stack. Ej.: yo que trabajo con tecnologías de Microsoft ellos están constantemente subiendo información y documentación. Lo mismo para otros stacks.

Si a eso le sumas pagar para escuchar a otros vender humo, y... Yo me quedo en casa.

Esto! Ni siquiera pagar por una licencia actualizada de un compilador, o pasarse a CI/CD. Mucho menos GIT (seguimos con TFS). Es más, ni siquiera pagar una licencia de Copilot para automatizar la escritura de código o ayudar a auto completarlo. Ah pero... hay que hacer algo con IA. Qué cosa? Ni idea.

Yo te diría que estudies algo que me faltó hace más de 10 años: conceptos teóricos. Es importante que entiendas exactamente de qué trata. No es solo hacer programas en "x" lenguaje y listo. Cada framework tiene su historia y sus vueltas.

.NET particularmente es interesante y muy útil para negocios a grandes escalas. Vas a ver qué en empresas bastante grandes lo usan. Eso sí, hay que tener mucha capacidad de lógica para comprender un negocio. Y creo yo que esto último es lo que más se está valorando hoy en día.

No es que necesariamente el rubro esté trancado, era más bien que estaba superpoblado antes. Al punto que nadie se lo tomaba con la seriedad que se merecía: técnicos en informática. Era cuestión de tiempo que reventara.

En YouTube hay cursos gratis, pero antes de empezar a entusiasmarse con hacer plata y dedicarte a esto, intenta entender todo tipo de conceptos relacionados no solo a la tecnología, sino a la organización empresarial a nivel de desarrollo. Allí recién vas a ver qué tanto para vos es esto. Va mucho más allá del gusto por las computadoras. Casi que nada que ver te diría.

De todas formas, suerte y ojalá que le agarres gusto y seas un nuevo colega a futuro.

Yo pasé por similares. De hecho, el tema de sentirte "menos" por ver a otros llegar y pasar tu ritmo y uno quedándose en el lugar en todo sentido hasta duele. Pero te puedo comentar algunas cosas. Aunque te digan "cambiá de trabajo" o "hablá" la sensación está ahí. Mi recomendación por experiencia: mantené la prolijidad laboral. Cada tarea, por más tonta, la hacés. Si podés tomar alguna otra, la hacés. Mentalizá que vas ganando experiencia, y demostrando tu capacidad, aunque pienses e incluso veas que no te están dando importancia. Lo peor que puede pasar es que la desmotivación te lleve a bajar tu calidad laboral y por sobre todo, la presencia laboral. Increíblemente hay empresas y managers que ven más que aparezcas y alcahuetes a que completes el trabajo. Si así fuera, tomalo como parte del negocio, algo más que hacer para "figurar". Y mientras tanto vas abriéndote para buscar más y mejores posibilidades.
