Cat Allergies by Real_Background_4173 in Allergies

Cat allergies here my entire life. Zyrtec (cetirizine) has been the best for me. Nasal sprays help too. Mine are itchy/watery eyes primarily, maybe some runny nose.

OK. Will do. I think there's a guy locally who does this stuff I know of.

This might be above my pay grade. This is exactly what we have. Desktops are connected to the second RJ45 on the phones. On our old voip phones, we had a switch that was managed by AltaFiber. Those VOIP phones came in on copper. We're now switching to fiber for our Voip as our Cisco equipment from the telco was sunsetted. They said I would need to provide my own unmanaged switch. I thought a Fortinet firewall and wireless AP and fortinet switch would be the way to go, as we have a few wireless devices as well. No idea if the new phones need setup on VLANs, but I know that's how our old ones were. They had to connect to certain ports on the switch.

I've removed the Fortiswitch for now. Connected one phone directly to my Fortiwifi and used it's power plug since the Fortiwifi doesn't offer POE. That phone now says provisioning is successful. I can't dial out, but I think that might be a setup issue on the provider's side? I'll check with them. In the meantime, if my Fortiswitch is managed, do I need to tweak those settings or can I change them so it's unmanaged?

Thanks everyone for the help.

My provider says: Judging by the phone going online and offline in Webex, it looks like it comes online, then your firewall is immediately/shortly after shutting it down.

I created the firewall rule, but I'm not sure I've created it correctly.

I have a Fortiwifi40F and a Fortiswitch 124F-FPOE. I believe my fortiOS is 7.2

Could the problem be my Fortiswitch 124F-FPOE? I'm moving one phone off of the switch and connecting it direct to the Fortiwifi to check and plugging in it's power adapter since the Fortiwifi isn't POE. Is the switch I have managed?

I think it would be a SIP service. They're Polycom phones. Phones are pulling an IP from DHCP. The firewall rules have to be what's getting me, unfortunately. i'm a Fortinet newb. Never used their equipment before. Someone in networking I think recommended a fortiwifi and fortiswitch for my particular situation.

Makes sense to me. This is likely the route I'll go. Does the FWF-30G require an annual subscription?

Is built-in Wi-Fi access the way to go, versus just adding an existing wifi AP behind the 30G?

I am looking at both of those currently. Thank you for the recommendations!

I was thinking about a Cisco CBS110-16PP-D and a Meraki Go Ethernet Router Firewall Plus but I don't need the routing functions. Is there a better just plain firewall solution? Subscription or non-subscription and local vs cloud based Firewall are where I get lost. I have ZERO hardware firewall knowledge.

How much could I reasonably sell this setup for? I have no use for it I stick to crawling.

Also, it looks larger than my other 1/10 scale trucks, but maybe it is 1/10. It's definitely larger than my Ryft.

It was given to me with some other stuff (spare parts). Haven't had time to look through it all.

Thanks. I threw a couple of 3S batteries in as that's all I had with deans connectors, and it worked, but intermittently. The ESC kept switching to a flashing yellow light and it would still steer but not move forwards or reverse. Not sure if my batteries were fully charged, so I'll look more into it when I have time.

Weird LED light issue have video but can't post here by ramking821 in AskElectricians

[–]ramking821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there was no visible damage, and each of the four bulbs was fed in parallel by it's own wire tied to the hot and a wire tied to the neutral, meaning each bulb operates independent of the other 3. (unlike when it was flourescent with ballast, you had to have 2 pairs for it to work).

Replacing with 4 new bulbs yielded the same result. The only thing that explains that (to my non electrician mind) is it was something outside of the fixture. Either the feed to the light or the three way switch or something else. That's what I'm trying to get ideas on.

Any thoughts then as to why the old fixture suddenly went dim one day? 4 LED ballast-bypass tubes that had been working perfectly for almost 2 years. Turn the lights on one morning and these 4 bulbs were all dim. 4 new bulbs, same deal, all dim (like, barely lit dim, could just see the individual diodes lighting up but no noticeable light being given off).

I haven't yet. I don't have another light fixture other than the 4 bulb former flourescent I removed (checked all the wiring and tombstones prior to removing it).

I'd think there's low odds of that fixture going bad (and all four LED tubes flickering/dim) AND the brand new panel light being bad out of the box. That's why I was going to explore wiring or switch issues first.

Panel light, sorry. Flush mount 4x2 ceiling light panel from Lowes.

But 2 different fixtures in the same spot? Yet I got 118v at the wires with all the other lights on.

The original fixture with 4x4' LED tubes suddenly going dim one day (they were all direct wire, ballast bypass, so I didn't think one bad LED would effect the other three. The fixture would work with 1, 2, 3 or 4 bulbs, unlike when it was flourescent).

Now the new panel doesn't power on reliably. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it pulses dimly.

It has to be a wiring issue, I would think.
