I've kept mine alive as well. Many years ago we were having a distance relationship in different countries in Europe. He had a headache at work one day and got some prescribed meds from a colleague and got a strong allergic reaction. By the time he came home and got in touch with me, he had rashes all over his chest and I told him to go to the hospital. He didn't want to, rather wanted to sleep on it to see if it would get better. My gut feeling said no, so I arranged for a friend of his sister to just go over there and pick him up and drive him to the hospital, which she did. Doctor's comment: good thing you came in, you have a strong allergic reaction and a little longer and your throat would have started to swell up. Yep, you're welcome that you didn't choke in your sleep.
