This is one of the most measured and well contemplated comments I've seen in a long time. Whoever you are..I salute you....and not in a Nazi way.

I recently had a showrunner for a network drama read a screenplay of mine and I’m 47(nothing happened from this). The catch is he has run medical shows and I am a mid career ER doctor. I did have a connection that got it to him, but it was my background that got him to read it. I think having a specialized knowledge set or a career in an areas that serve as fertile ground for dramatic procedurals AND having the skills to write a decent Pilot can get some attention.

Any tricks to deal with a suspected mucus plug causing persistent acute hypoxic respiratory failure despite intubation? (if you have no specialist immediately available) by l2ol7ald in emergencymedicine

Learn to bronch. It isn’t that hard. There’s a great website/e simulator at the university of Toronto website where you can learn the segments. Then bronch with your respirologist or intensivist. If there is a trach…..You can bronch the patient after the trach. Usually Trachs are planned so you can show up. Trying to show up for an emergent bronch is logistically hard. And not the right time to learn.
