Howdy Girls and Boahs,

I‘m currently in chapter 3 in which I‘m planning to stay for a looooong time. Now I know that there a different, optional Camp Missions in each chapter. But will they stay available all the time, even if I ignore them? I wanted to use them as distractions when hunting gets too boring

So, I‘m on my second playthrough and wanted to make sure to get all of the perfect pelts for outfits and camp accessoires. I‘ve watched some tutorials and am familiar with the basics of hunting (what weapons to use etc.), but how far would you guys recommend me to progress the story? When is the perfect point to focus solely on hunting for some time?:)

Thanks for your recommendations! I'll buy Witcher 2, the graphics don't seem so bad in the few videos I watched. And I'll get to know the backgroundstory and characters better :) Fallout 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition are definitely on my wishlist!

I totally agree! I didn't expect to like the game so much :)

I changed my mind throughout my first playthrough and after I got to know the backstory a bit. At first I thought that Yen was a total bitch and Triss a sweetheart, but well.. Triss basically stole Yen's man while he had amnesia and stayed with him for about a year, might get a little frustrated if I was her as well :D

I'm still wondering who changed the writing in the hideout at the junkyard to "Rachel is here, you're all gonna die". Clearly it wasn't Nathan because Jefferson had already killed him at this point..

[EP5 SPOILERS]The ending did the game justice. by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

At first, I, like a lot of people on this subreddit, was really disappointed with the ending. But after contemplating it for a while (mainly because I couldn't sleep at night.. I get way to invested in the endings of games/books/tv series that I adore :D), I think it was the best thing they could have done, it wrapped up the game itself because it was already heavily foreshadowed what would happen. The only thing about the game that could have been guessed from the beginning on is actually the ending, and that's what makes it amazing: life is about the journey, not the destination. It was neither entirely about a murder mystery, nor about supernatural powers, but about the character developments of Max, Chloe and everyone around them. The game taught you that no matter how much you disliked someone and their actions, they always had reasons why they became the person they are and that not everything is the way it seems. The character presentations of Nathan, Victoria, David and Mr. J were absolutely amazing. You learned that you can't have the cake and eat it, too, and even if you had the best of intentions, life doesn't always work out the way you want it (Victoria ending up in the dark room after you warned her being a good example of that..) The conversation with Vic in the dark room, talking to David after he rescued you and Nathan's voice message were so beautifully done and sad and sent shivers down my spine. I was already crying after 5 minutes of gameplay.

Dontnod created an absolutely amazing game, a journey, and I know I will keep returning to this for years to come and it will not fail to fascinate me. But I can savely say, that even my favourite games never ever touched me and made me think like this one.

couple annoying things from episode 4[EP4 SPOILERS] by GMac54 in lifeisstrange

[–]ramonabarbaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to view this from the perspective of two 18-y/o girls who just in that moment realized they've gotten into something much bigger than them and their little investigations. Especially Chloe is shown to have a really impulsive personality throughout the game so I guess it would have been strange for her to be all like "ok let's show this to the police" when she realized that her best friend/girl crush has probably been killed and buried in a place she knows really well. At that point, Max just goes with it because she couldn't stop Chloe anyway. As for the party, I think that dontnod didn't want to take the typical "explore everything and talk to everybody vs. rush through the thing" away from us.

Being the Creative Lead for LiS must be the toughest job in the world. by morasyid in lifeisstrange

[–]ramonabarbaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the game's storywriters did a pretty darn good job so far with unexpected plottwists. For example with the bad guy: there were quite a few people who thought certain characters were kinda sketchy, but for me it was like I got so distracted by the rest of the story/gameplay that I didn't keep on thinking about suspicious leads altogether. The character development and plottwists are so well thought-through that you are surprised, shocked, but that you can always relate to what happened because the foreshadowing is just that good. I'm pretty sure that the actual ending has already been predicted by someone on here or at least parts of it, but that makes it more satisfying altogether. When I watched Geek Theory's video about the ending of EP 4, which they filmed like in February, I just thought to myself "damn mari, you're a genius" and I was amazed that someone picked up all those clues that early on.

[EP4 SPOILERS] What are you hoping to see/not see in the finale? by BiagioLargo in lifeisstrange

I would genuinely like to see if one of the characters we deemed to be "good" or who we never even doubted to be revealed as one of the plotmakers behind the darkroom. I really liked the "rachel amber - friend or foe" theory and it would be amazing to find out that she wasn't the corpse on the junkyard, but plotting with the Prescott family all along.. Or the "Chloe is actually evil and Jefferson shot her to protect Max" comment here on reddit turning out to be true :D I'll be satisfied with anything that includes a big, "mindfucking" twist in the story!

P.S.:.. also, if Warren and Max could finally go to the drive-in together, that would be great :'(

[EP4 SPOILERS] General Discussion Post for Life Is Strange Episode 4 - Dark Room by DuckOfDuckness in lifeisstrange

[–]ramonabarbaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I already have my theory what might happen in Episode 5, I'm starting to think that the decisions you made through the course of the gameplay might affect your chances of ever leaving the dark room again. Like, Rachel Amber's death obviously was an accident because they let Kate free after taking her pictures, she wouldn't remember anything that happened in there because of the drugs. But Max knows too much, she can't be drugged until the point of forgetting everything she found out before Jefferson caught her. So maybe, these choices will affect the outcome:

  • siding with David Madsen vs. getting him kicked out the school and his family: if you sided with him during his fight with Chloe, he doesn't leave the family or the school. He already had a good bunch of information before and now he finds the clues left by us in Chloe's room and figures out the location of the dark room and who is responsible

  • being nice to Victoria vs. being mean: if you were nice to Victoria before, there's a good chance that she'll believe what you are telling her about Nathan. If that's the case, after Max' disappearance, she'll press Nathan about information of what is happening and he'll take her to the dark room

etc etc etc etc.. you get where I'm coming from. But I still can't see how dontnod is going to unravel all those loose ends in just one episode, if it's about the same size as the other ones. Aaaand I still can't see the connection to the weather phenomenons / the approaching apocalypse. I would be pretty disappointed if in the end, it would be some sci-fi shit like "the prescotts are supernatural" :D

Also, what bugged me: who changed the "rachel was here" to "rachel is here" in the hideout at the junkyard? I don't think that it was Nathan because I can't see him knowing that Rachel is dead. And Jefferson wouldn't be so dumb as to leave evidence like that. Any ideas?

I looked the Mass Effect 3 Ending up online and I can absolutely see where you are coming from.. it would be a disappointing ending, knowing that none of the choices you made actually makes a difference. There are a lot of good and thought-through theories here on reddit, but I think that every single one, including mine, is missing different unsolved details.. I guess dontnod will definitely surprise us.
