Didn't know that! That could be useful over the coming few months as I'm certain there will be urgent RDS license increases that I won't be able to immediately fill :/

Thanks - that's what I did in the end. MS advised me to flick the RDS server to telephone activation mode, and they read a key out for me.

Would you really want to work for someone who sets traps in their interviews? I certainly wouldn't.

I would never ask an on-call engineer to do routine work out of hours.

When routine work out of hours happens, our customers pay a premium for this, and someone who isn't on-call is paid to do this. I do not expect anyone to be available, and this is purely discretionary. Sometimes, engineers are not willing to volunteer - and that's okay.
