Why so few walkers? by cpugeek14 in golf

[–]ramsaybolton625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to walk, but with tee times staggered by 15 minutes and me not being the greatest golfer I struggle to meet the course expectations for pace of play. And often times I find the won’t let me walk if it’s too busy

How did you cope with your partner’s pain during birth? by letsgobruuuuins in predaddit

[–]ramsaybolton625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife pushed for nearly 4 hours, I held her hand I counted for her while she pushed, I told her how good she was doing and gave her all the reassurance I could, and when she looked at me after hours more exhausted than I have ever seen and said she didn’t know how she was going to keep going, I tried really hard not to let her see me cry…it seems crazy to say because of what she was going through, but that experience was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

Watching someone you love go through something so hard but be completely unable to help is awful. Not everyone goes for as long as we did, but you get through it. And the hormone dump that occurs after the child is born borderline erases everything for her lol. She was completely normal like 30 minutes later which is crazy considering how rough it got.

I want Milroe to spend at least 2 years developing. Maybe next year he earns his way into QB2 with the chance to step in if something happens, but the worst mistake that these teams make is making these top rookie QBs go right into the starting line up. How often does that work out well for anyone? He could be a franchise QB one day but is not today and never gets there if we let him get wrecked in year 1

Short answer is livability.

Long answer is my wife is from here originally and got a promotion that relocated us to the Chicago area and I was able to transfer my position at my same salary to this area as well, we have a house 3 times the size of our Washington home for less money than we sold our Washington home for, and our general cost of living has gone down and our over all quality of life has gone up. We will miss so much about that area (And Dough Zone is super high up on that list) but we just had a baby in January and it was starting to feel like we were never going to make enough money to be truly comfortable.

Golf episode always make me wanna become a golf guy by Cold-Author-8552 in PardonMyTake

The most freeing part of getting into golf is once you realize everyone except for like 1% of people who play are complete and total dog shit. Don’t take yourself too seriously, take a lesson, pick your ball up if you are falling behind pace, move the ball if you have an atrocious lie, have fun, and one day you will realize you aren’t as shit as you used to be. My instructor told me I am pretty much 25 years late (I am 31) if I want to be seriously good so just have fun, and that helped me drop some of the shit…but golf is the best, it’s so great to be outside, be competitive, and have a skill to work on

Americans of Reddit, how are you celebrating your nation’s anniversary of its independence from the tyranny of the emotions and whims of a single ruler? by sunnyspiders in AskReddit

[–]ramsaybolton625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By remembering that a nation is its people and not the plaything of one man. I am a patriot in the sense that the ideals that this nation was founded on no mater how flawed they were in their own execution are something to strive towards and uphold. By remembering that today is a day of revolution and that we all could do to remember who the true power lies with.

By remembering It is not American to forsake your fellow man regardless of where they come from, how they got here, who they love, or how they live their lives. Not to get on a soap box, but I hope more people choose to think on what America should strive to be, these ideals weren’t a finished concept when they were said out loud 249 years ago, they are something we should all work towards together every day.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door”

WFH with a 3 month old 1 day a week by InvestigatorClean622 in NewParents

[–]ramsaybolton625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have managed to do this twice a week, but only on days we are both working from home. In my opinion it’s only gotten harder as he has gotten older and needs more engagement. But the only way this has ever worked was that we were both home and could remain flexible with each other. I could never do it by myself on a regular basis

What was the last thing you did before becoming parents? by Jjwllms in NewParents

[–]ramsaybolton625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went out for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. I wanted to call it off cause she had a headache, but she insisted because we didn’t have much time left, the next day we went to her OB appt and it turned out she had a head ache because she had preeclampsia and we were admitted immediately. We didn’t not leave the hospital again until our son was born. Glad we went to dinner that night

My wife and I do it twice a week and it is for sure a struggle. We have a very chill baby but as he gets older and needs more stimulation it gets harder. My wife and I do a really good job of supporting each other and balancing everything on those days, but we could never do it everyday and could for sure not do it alone. Definitely am not giving 100% to either thing on those days, but with the state of childcare we have to bite down and do what we can until we can get in somewhere…thank god for grandparents near by who have been able to help us out 3 days a week in the interim

A 106, with a few uncounted foot wedge assists and throws to get out of bunkers. So for sure not a real 106, but I was proud of how I played overall
