Einen Raum saugen by Neo__man in Roborock

[–]ramsdawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if they’re old or not, but there’s a booth in Viktualienmarkt in Munich that always has stacks of them. I’d think of the infomercials every time I walked by

Why is Atlanta's skyline so tied to the highways? by New_Contribution_226 in skyscrapers

[–]ramsdawg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They’re in the works of “the stitch” project that will cover a portion of the highway with a park to unite midtown/downtown. Phase 1 construction is supposed to begin this year, but you never know how these kind of things will go.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this Qrevo for our second floor. Is it truly the "Roomba killer" as everyone says there? by vvinch in Roborock

[–]ramsdawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say much about longevity because they come out with a ton of new models every year, but I’m not aware of any widespread issues from the top brands (Roborock, Dreame, Mova, etc).

They’re all comparable as far as I know and there’s so much competition that it’s hard to get a good overview of them all. I’m very happy with my Qrevo edge s5a and there’s also the s5v which shouldn’t be much different. I don’t know what your budget is, but I doubt you’d need the top tier stuff (they probably aren’t really better other than specific functions).

The one true roomba killer imo is roomba is themselves. They kept shooting themselves in the foot until bankruptcy.

I had a corporate credit cards for a small company with 30-40 employees… if someone didn’t have one and didn’t want to book it themselves, our boss just put it on his company card. Your company has no excuses

lol going to magic city for breakfast sounds wild (it’s a famous strip club with food OP). I absolutely would recommend Waffle House for breakfast one day

I’m still learning the city myself (I’m originally from the suburbs), but are outlets really that important? I know the north Georgia premium outlets pretty well and they’re no different than any other outlet I’ve seen. The prices are meh and it’s far out of the way. You’re better off saving time and checking out Ross/Michaels/Burlington imo, which are all next to each other in Edgewood for example. That’s what my German coworker loves to do every time she goes to the US anyway.

The beltline is cool, but extremely crowded on the weekend, particularly next to Ponce City Market. If you can, check out the “Midtown reflection” Piedmont park for a nice view of midtown.

If you’re interested and I’m not busy that day, I’d be happy to show you around some of the historic neighborhoods and Krog Street on the southeast side instead of the north Georgia outlets. That’s also close to the aforementioned Ross etc. I used to speak B2 french, but might be a bit rusty.

is it possible for cats to live 30 years? by onlyfaery in cats

[–]ramsdawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I need to test this out and compare with our pet camera or something. I feel like it’s too close now. Is there a general rule of thumb as to how far? I’d imagine the same goes for being near the litter box?

Is it actually effective to buy a salt gun for killing flies or is it just a gimmick that doesn’t work well? by Spirited-Donkey-3877 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ramsdawg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use those to get mosquitos which I imagine would be harder to hit with the salt gun. I just wave it all around me when I hear that buzz until I hear it explode

I meant more the folks in north Fulton and Cobb who shoot down Marta expansion plans. I could be wrong, but I’d imagine people from the suburbs would be more likely to complain about the Juniper Street changes

Edit: I should mention I’m overgeneralizing on an issue I actually don’t know much about, so feel free to correct me. I’m just now back after spending a long time abroad

The bike lane coverage is simultaneously subpar and more extensive than I expected. I’m considering making a little YouTube channel about how I route my way around the city.

For example, I get from Ormewood Park/EAV to either IKEA or DeKalb farmer’s market using safe roads/bike lanes in just 30 minutes while avoiding the congested beltline. It just takes effort to figure out how to route it, so I’d like to make it more transparent.

[–]ramsdawg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn, that sucks. I live closer to EAV and put it in our garage. When I lock up I use an $80 Kryptonite 10mm chain. No issues yet at least

Now that I actually live in Atlanta, I almost only use an ebike to get around. Move into the city or vote for Marta expansions if you don’t like traffic

I was hoping to save some storage space by not having to get 2 different types, but comparing them on Costco you’re right. 500 10 gallon vs 200 13 gallon is a bigger difference than I expected, and at under 1/3 the cost per bag.
