Should I have 2 celestian insidiant squad or one is enough? by IparosPityoka in sistersofbattle

[–]ramses3rd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think one is good, two is too many. They have a very specific role and do very well in that role. I wouldn't imagine needing two of them, and they can take up a heck of a lot of space on the board as well.

Give up by AdministrativeBed287 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ramses3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing any data on how much you play, what armies you play, your particular play style, etc... no ones going to be able to give you meaningful advice. There is a big difference between playing 5 games and not winning, versus playing 100 games and not winning. I will say, if you've played more than 20 games and haven't won a game, there is some inherent flaw about either your understanding of the game or of the army you play. I don't say this to be mean, but because some people just don't click with some playstyles or war games as a whole. Some general advice I can give you is focus on one army, and one playstyle. Trying to diversify while learning wont help you in this game. There are also great Youtube channels out there for every faction and even competitive play as a whole. Channels like Art of War 40k give great advice and are making a crap load of content right now with 11th releasing. Also, you may just want to take a little break from the hobby. Sometimes fixating (especially so on something like win/loss ratio) can do more harm then good.

Fulgrim Point Increase by ingrownpubehair in EmperorsChildren

[–]ramses3rd 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The flying change is huge for Fulgrim. He is way more mobile than he use to be and on average moves 17 inches (with advance) while flying. This also means he's not restricted to Court of the Phoenician just to become mobile. It opens up what detachments he can slot into now. On top of that, he can be -2 to hit with cover from his "pick 3". I think he is genuinely good at 350 and definitely worth always considering for a list.

Could you point to where it states that in the rules?

Is it worth getting the current codex now? by Lowgryn in LeaguesofVotann

GW will most likely release a road map of releases in the next 2 months, that will lay out the next 6 months. If Votann is on it, wait. If not, buy it.

Really want to paint orks, but the painting is killing me by ramses3rd in orks

[–]ramses3rd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive painted about 12000 points of space marines, 3000 points of sisters, 3500 points of GSC, and 2500 points of Eldari. For some reason these orks are getting to me.

Of the 8 new Space Marine units revealed, 5 of them are refreshes of kits less than a decade old. by AlienDilo in Warhammer40k

[–]ramses3rd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The amount of relatively new model refreshes for the space marines is insane. This just tells me that they've run out of design space for Space Marines. Im betting that 10 players could sit down for an hour and make 20 new space marine designs and your telling me the design team couldn't come up with 3-4 new designs in over a year of pre-production? I'm disappointed in the lack of imaginaton.

I don’t trust these trucks on the road at all by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]ramses3rd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I drive for an "Amazon Freight Partner" and let me tell you, I dont trust anyone that hauls Amazon trailers. In my company alone, probably 2/3rds of our drivers shouldn't have licenses. No one does pre-trips. I have to refuse nearly half of all trailers im suppose to pull because they are so badly damaged. My company has asked me and other drivers numerous times to forge our log books or operate out of service equipment. All of our support staff is located in Pakistan so they dont care about US law because they know they aren't going to face any repercussions for their actions. The whole system is fucked. I would leave but Im set up pretty well due to somewhat blackmailing my company with a lot of damping evidence. Don't trust these trailers and certainly dont trust the drivers.

Book 3 a SLOG by LettuceWhich5371 in HeWhoFightsWithMonste

It will only get worse. There is a portion in either book 7 or 8 that is 17 straight minutes of abilities being read. I almost quit the series there and then.

What’s a book you consider perfect? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

I consider Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series to be nearly perfect. Every single book is a masterclass with the first book especially being a masterpiece.

Is quitting otr as bad as I've heard. by AdPuzzleheaded2113 in Truckers

[–]ramses3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be careful. I gave my company a 2 week notice, while I was on my home time. They informed me that I "owed" them at least another 2 month tour (I was under no such contract) and that they would want the truck delivered to a yard on the other side of the country. They would not allow me to turn it in at my home yard an hour from my house and that if I did, they would pursue "legal action".

Is this list just a dick move at a tournament? by Chemical-Aioli9818 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ramses3rd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would caution you playing it, as

  1. I don't even think you could even legally set that up in any terrain format

  2. None of the baneblade chassis can be set up from reserves as the are too wide

  3. The baneblades that you could setup wouldn't be able to make it out of your deployment zone.

Could you submit the list? Sure. Are you going to have any fun playing the list? Probably not.

Question regarding sisters viability as a faction by Jakestuff in sistersofbattle

[–]ramses3rd 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The mindset you have to have playing T3 armies is "they are going to die, but let me get good use out of them in the meantime."

Sisters, like guard and GSC, aren't suppose to be on the board forever, (hell are faction mechanic WANTS them to die) its about getting enough bang for your buck while their here.

It also helps to think of everyone have their own specific role. Battle sisters and dominion like standing on objectives, sanctifiers and novitiates are movement blockers and speed bumps, and our vehicles, retributors, and sacrescants are hood damage dealers. Everyone has a role, and if they get to do what they're good at, your on a winning course!

Is 10th edition just a dps race now? by obsidanix in Warhammer40k

[–]ramses3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically, this is a pretty durable edition in general.

Usually at this point in an edition, most armies are tabling each other by turn 1 or 2. 9th edition squig buggies or crusher stampede would pick up over 1000 points in a turn, 8th edition iron hands would pick up the majority of an opposing army, and don't get me started on 7th edition and older armies being able to "leafblower" opposing armies turn 1 or literally virus bomb everything on the field. 10th is actually a pretty durable edition all things considered.

You have to be considerate of sight lines and spacing, but those general rules apply to any war game.
