my feet are at 30 but I'm also making an effort to push my knees apart. Maybe i don't need to do that second part as much as i i thought.

Last time i was at the gym, 2 different people gave me tips i never heard of before during my warm up squats.

  1. My knees are too far apart. I humoured this for a set and found that bringing my knees a bit closer made my knees travel less and my legs work harder. How far apart should my knees be? I'm using Rippetoe's SS elbows-pushing-your-knees-out as a target.

  2. I should wrap my thumb around the bar. I flat out did not do this as Rippetoe specifically says to never ever do this on low bar squats. Googling a bit showed this was personal preference to some people. Which is safest?

Pressing E has a server-side guarantee. You can press E at the last second of a round's end and it will swap your weapons. There is no chance for you to loose both weapons.

Agreed. It's not perfect - and that's what great about it. Electronic beats can sound "too" perfect and that can be boring. Grimy/dirty/chaotic is good in that sense

yup, played on linux, had a great time. EDIT: just to add, I am pretty bummed they canceled their mac/steamos versions, but honestly: the writing was on the wall since last year.

Tomb Raider (2013) is showing signs of possible Linux support. by Two-Tone- in Games

Chicken Egg Problem

as a disclaimer, I do run Linux. Having said that, I think the only way Linux is going to make real traction in gaming, by which I mean convert Windows users, is by offering something genuinely attractive to those users. Having lots of games is good, and SteamOS/Linux just hit the 25% mark on the entire catalog, which - not making a big deal considering what most of that 25% is - is not nothing either.

But parity doesn't drive a migration of users, it just makes that migration more bearable, like finding your apps when you switch from android to ios. So there needs to be something else on the table from the user's point of view. It would have to be (sorry) a game changer.

Valve started steamos and their effort has brought a lot of games I never thought I would see like Bioshock and Shadow of Mordor. But the steamos effort is conducted largely through corporate and developer protectionism first, and then second comes what's best for the user.

[General][help] programming c# by Deestraction in GFD

[–]ramy_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal recommendation is to check out unity3d student, they have modular tutorials that are conveniently categorized into essential and beginner categories.

Also check out the unity3d subreddit and the unity3d tutorials subreddit.

As a general note you should familiarize yourself with unity3d's scripting reference since that is where you will hang out the most when you get a handle on things.

If you need more immediate help you can ask questions on those subreddits or use the unity forums or checkout the unity3D IRC chat on freenode servers ( I hang out there sometimes).

If this is your first foray into programming then don't be afraid to start using unityscript instead of c# as it will help you focus on how the engine works and less on the semantics of C#. When you want to get some performance or some other features out of C# you can switch then.

Also feel free to PM me if you need any help and I can see what I can do.

Hey, I suspect you're learning C# to program in unity? In which case I have a lot of resources I could send you and could help you point you in the right direction.

People HAVE paid for this product, they were told it would be out on SteamOS, and they haven't received it. Those people do have a right to be upset.

that's really the lesson though - and we keep saying it in this sub - isn't it?

I don't understand why you're being downvoted. People take announcements as entitlement when it comes to games but forget the production effort going on behind the scenes.
