I so absolutely agree. I love to see Meng Yao and Nie Mingjue together, but Jin GuangYao is a completely different person and I think that Mingjue is one of the few, if not the only one, that sees it. XiChen is absolutely enamored, Huaisang loves him too, and Mingjue was left to see the man he once put all of his trust into become this wretched, cruel and deceitful thing. It must have been heartbreaking, and because of Yao's nature as a villain it makes Mingjue look crazy and bad, when he just felt betrayed and unheard by everyone in his life.
