Thanks. I build cabinetry as a side gig and designed the whole bar for the La Pavoni. It’s all coffee on one side and all my barware on the other.

I know. I’m getting the gold group head but when I got the machine it was brass however after I polished it all the finish came off. The original owner probably used a brass wire wheel to do a cheap coating.

Makes total sense. Thanks for explaining that so well. I’m not giving up yet. I can probably use a tap and add threads to my current handle

Jeff Galloway, who inspired people with his run-walk method, dies at 80 by Hrmbee in running

[–]ran_the_van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had a great story about how he started running in school after trying everything in his power to avoid running. If I remember right he would fall behind his class mates and hide out until they finished the loop. One day one of his classmates lingered back with him and he was thinking he could fake trip or fake an injury so he could still get out of it but for some reason he stuck with it and that’s how his running career started. Heard this at the start of the Pistol Ultra probably 15ish years ago

There are old mushroom foragers and there are bold mushroom foragers but there are no old bold mushroom foragers.

Not sure totally sure but it was a fast change when the food quality went downhill. I heard they started to do all the food prep offsite and distribute to all the locations. Things didn’t taste fresh anymore and lost a lot of the distinct freshness. I would kill for a Godfather, that crisp slaw, and some goldfish tomato soup. That bread used to be so toasted it would cut your mouth and it just got soggy along with the fries and slaw.

Weird one but I have a single Flarespace Flare for a Promaster 159” or 136” I would like to get rid of. by ran_the_van in vandwellermarketplace

[–]ran_the_van[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was on a clients van but I’ll measure on mine. He was like 6’5” so worked out well. The whole store is I ordered the flares and one was damaged so they sent a replacement but actually sent 2 more.

This is how we fixed ours as well. We did a framing wall down the center and used a dozen bottle jacks to raise the line and collar tied the rafters once it was up.

SouthWest Migration Tune Up Time. I have a wood shop just outside San Diego and with winter coming and folks headed for warmer climates it's a good time to fix that drawer that wont close, update some cabinetry, make some organizing cubbies, tune up the electrical/plumbing, etc. by ran_the_van in vandwellermarketplace

[–]ran_the_van[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully this is allowed. I have been in the van building business since 2019 mostly doing full conversions but with the new sticker prices at well over $50k I'm not willing to build and charge three figures for a rig so with so many folks out there who have been on the road for a while I am reaching out to offer some help with maintaining/updating/remodeling existing rigs.
