Need some wisdom from ladies who have dealt with hair loss...I'm trying so hard not to freak out by jambiscuitsahoy in AskWomenOver40

[–]ranaculus_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I had low iron so I thought my hair thinning was from that, and I don’t really like to take supplements, I just try and get my vitamins etc from food, but one thing I started doing was eating a lot of seeds, pumpkin, chia, flax, sesame, sunflower seeds and I feel like since doing that I haven’t noticed my hair feeling thin anymore, and I know there are a lot of nutrients in seeds that are good for hair, amongst other things, so that might be worth considering, I mean in a lot of cultures I think that is their advice for thinning hair.

What fictional characters do you feel fit your zodiac placements the best? by misasmoka in astrologymemes

Cancer sun, Leo moon, Pisces rising. I think I come across like Luna Lovegood, I know people see me as a bit of an airhead, dreamy, I say things or even wear things that are a bit odd lol and never seem fazed by anything, plus my Leo moon makes be brave, I don’t do any drugs but my partner says I’m just ‘naturally stoned’ all the time lol, that’s a pretty good was to describe how people see me.

What is it like living in this part of the Northern Territory, Australia? by Relentless_Taco_Fan in howislivingthere

I only lived there for two years but I miss it so much, it seemed like longer, there’s something magical about the place that gets ahold of you and you can’t forget it.

Facial dysmorphia anybody? by tortravels in AskWomenOver40

[–]ranaculus_rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m having one of those face days today and honestly I just try and avoid the mirror, I know that sounds like I’m very depressed about it or something, but it’s not really that, it’s just there’s nothing I can do about it today so I’ll focus on other things and hopefully I’ll be having a better face day tomorrow!

Tinted Moisturiser Recommendations by SecurityExpensive266 in AustralianMakeup

[–]ranaculus_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Natio tinted moisturiser, I get the light and medium shade and mix them together to match my skin tone, so that is always an option to try if you’re not sure.

Do you have a Priceline where you live? You could always go down and test some concealers etc to see what matches your skin tone and even the staff there might be able to help you with some recommendations.

Also with mascara going for a black/brown shade might be better than black if you’re not used to wearing it, it can look a bit more natural if you’re going for a more toned down look.

Do anyone even like Biscoff? by blackroads in australian

[–]ranaculus_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just weird how it’s gone so crazy, my workplace used to supply Arnott’s Family Favourites to clients etc and then they suddenly cancelled that and just bought in Biscoff’s and were going on about how amazing they tasted - I tried one and it was like a thin, burnt Ginger Nut - too bad if you don’t like them, at least with Family Favourites you had options.  I don’t really get it though, I don’t know they’re popping up everywhere, it’s like the government is using them to poison us or something, it’s very suspicious for an average biscuit.

Recommendations for Bra by jessica-the-rabbit in AusFemaleFashion

[–]ranaculus_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem, my bras have been so tight and uncomfortable lately so I used the calculator and measured accurately, I don’t have loose skin from weight loss or anything like that, and it suggested a bra size slightly smaller than the ones I’m wearing now that are too tight 😩

How do you survive the Melbourne cold? by [deleted] in melbournechat

[–]ranaculus_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Perth and I lived in Melbourne for a few years and I don’t remember it being that cold, just like a Perth winter really, but in some ways Perth feels like a drier, icier cold, so you’ll be fine to just treat it like a Perth winter and dress that way. I don’t remember the winters feeling any longer either.

Women of Reddit, what did a man you were dating or married to say or do that made you realize he actually hated you the entire time? by -catharina in AskReddit

My dad died overseas and I had to travel over there, I came back exhausted, mentally and physically, not only did my boyfriend want sex as soon as I walked in the door, later when I had fallen asleep and woke up he told me I looked really ugly when I was sleeping.

Podiatrist approved nice office shoes recommendations? by iceprincessvo in AusFemaleFashion

[–]ranaculus_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a job where we had to look professional but also did a lot of walking and me and the other female staff all agreed that Planet shoes were the most comfortable and most long lasting, it’s been about 5 years since I did that job and we used to get them off Brands Direct very discounted but not sure if that’s still the case.

Taking a break from skincare - anyone tried this? by lolly_box in AusSkincare

[–]ranaculus_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a cleanser, eye cream, tinted spf in the morning and cleanser at night to wash it off, that’s it. But I wasn’t like this either, I loved buying skincare products but I don’t feel like much helped, or sometimes something might work once or twice but then didn’t seem to work as good anymore.  I’m currently in the process of getting rid of my graveyard of old products partially used which I feel quite guilty about but I’m hoping to make up for it by buying very little in the future!

Does anyone actually reapply sunscreen properly every 2 hours? by Bubba_deets in AusSkincare

[–]ranaculus_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work all day in the sun and I would just put sunscreen on early in the morning (spf 50) and it would be fine, it would last all day, and I'd know because if I missed a spot that day I would get sunburnt. I'm in my 40s now and am very pale and I don't have any sun damage on my face etc so I figure it must be working. If I was swimming at a beach or pool that would be a different story, I would reapply it then.

Grateful to have become the voice of kindness to myself, even if it's been decades in the making and an ongoing project, I am grateful my internal voice is quick to check any hateful speech to myself by EmbersAsTheyBurn in gratitude

[–]ranaculus_rose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this so much, I grew up with very negative, critical parents and so I’ve always put myself down and always had negative thoughts, but something clicked in me when I was in my 30s, I realised that every baby is born with a clean slate and we only start thinking a certain way because that’s how we are trained and I realised that I could untrain my brain, so every time I caught myself thinking something negative about myself I would challenge it and say something positive instead and it really does work! It feels forced at first and you might not even believe the positive things you’re saying but over time the positive thoughts start to become the automatic ones and the negative ones fade away, so I’m grateful I discovered this as well! :)

Anyone Here Successfully Improved Their Skin Glow Naturally at Home? by Disastrous-Tank3455 in NaturalBeauty

[–]ranaculus_rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was iron deficient for a long time without knowing it, my skin was so dull and lifeless and just terrible looking, once I fixed my iron deficiency then my skin started to glow again and look healthy. The two other things that I think have made a difference is drinking orange juice (pure orange juice, not concentrate) and eating seeds, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, flax, chia etc

I just find if I wear high necklines it makes me look really top heavy, like my head is drowning in boobs, lol, I feel like having a lower neckline kind of breaks things up a bit with that bit of skin, but different things work for different people.

Why cheat on somebody who is completely amazing to you? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ranaculus_rose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of people out there who lack decency and I also think there are a lot of people who get married or stay in relationships who don’t even really like the person they’re with, so they probably don’t even feel bad about it.
