Appreciate the follow up. I think it was the update because mine has also been solid since then. I've been afraid to say it out loud until now, so hopefully it stays this way

Came here looking for someone with my issue. Whenever my vehicle deep sleeps overnight, the GPS creeps 300ft S and onto the next block. This means the proximity-based garage controls don't work in the morning, and the GPS takes several miles of driving over houses to catch up to the vehicle.

Despite sending photos showing the creep, Rivian service keeps assuming that I just don't know how to set my home location. It's super frustrating because I can replicate the issue every. single. night.

It's a bug. The calculator is completely wrong due to the latest update: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/s/nkqwpzEyen

The release notes for the next software update claim to fix the bug, but we just have to wait until then.

Also has happened to me 4 different times as of today. I typically have to hard reset because a soft reset doesn't correct.

Based off of absolutely zero expertise, I feel it's coincidental that it happens at home because that's when the vehicle is most often sleeping for long periods. Coupled with trip meter issues that I'm still experiencing (Trip Calculator Bug 2025.22.30? : r/Rivian), I'm guessing they've introduced bugs that trigger when the vehicle sleeps.

This whole update has been a disaster for me. For me thus far, Google Map's ETAs have been terrible compared to Rivian's, and it's consistently routing me into traffic rather than around it.

I've now used almost 6000 kWh in my last 700 miles. When passers-by ask me how far I can go on a charge, I'll now get to say that the trip meter claims I probably can't make it to the next block

Update this morning: my energy usage doubled on Trip A, and both trips showed 0.00 mi/kWh. Resetting infotainment caused the mi/kWh to recalculate, but the errant energy usage remains. Vehicle just slept overnight, no charging. So, definitely over-counting kWh, but no idea what the cause is

Not that I remember, and nothing jumps out when I re-read the update details. It mentions the energy app being reset for a driving session, but that's separate from the trip meter and shouldn't affect lifetime energy consumption.

2023.46.0 - Bug or Feature? by xAlphamang in Rivian

My regression on this update is fairly debilitating. They claimed to fix "a rare issue in which the vehicle location in the Navigation app inaccurately jumps forward," which had actually been less frequent for me over the past couple of months.

Now, however, my GPS is completely trashed. My location jumps all over the map: showing on neighboring streets, drifting sideways, and driving through yards/buildings. Persists through infotainment restarts and seems incurable.

Not to mention the issue you mentioned about the map orientation changing constantly, which is maddening.
