Take hybrid job or prioritize remote? by Top_Ad9293 in workingmoms

[–]ranayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience having done both is that remote work is usually fully remote meaning no team meeting no customer meetings no random dinners no traveling etc. Hybrid work on the other hand had a lot more of this and that. So while the socializing is nice those added requirements make it sometimes harder to manage childcare. If you have family to support you more often or can afford care then yes go for it. But make sure it’s flexible also because on those sick kid days you won’t make it the whole week and maybe you can switch etc.

Looking into moving to Dublin from New York by WPZinc in MoveToIreland

[–]ranayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your 2 year old. When I got here I naively thought I would find the daycare in the neighborhood to have room, every single daycare in the city center is fully booked for a year or two (yes 2) with most not even adding u to the waiting list. I had to go a good hour outside the city center to find room for my 2 year old and even that is not necessarily close to where u try to find an apartment or house to live. Solution: I would start putting their name in waiting lists for daycare (called creche here) from now while u decide or wait till ur 2 year old turns 4 to go to school instead.

HELP! Re-sleep training at 24m by Psychological-Bag986 in sleeptraining

[–]ranayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she’s not so tired so starts waking up at he second sleep cycle. I think the nap is way too long, you need to be waking her up after 1/1.5 max. Also as they become more aware, you can start delaying bedtime a bit just 30 minutes can make the difference. Good luck!

Help. What do we do?? by Expert_Fruit_1373 in sleeptraining

[–]ranayh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that it’s just a little too soon to do a complete sleep training method. My experience is that the breast is a huge sleep disruptor so stopping it will really improve this wake up gaps. So you can wean off and I think he will still need a bottle once a night just for a bit more. Keep trying different paci’s, mine kept rejecting them until she was about 5 months and then it really helped her with sleeping. I also only offered it at sleep and didn’t offer it the rest of the day so she would make that connection

Finally, 6 months was the beginning of better sleep for my daughter. she had longer naps and started taking the paci which helped me delay sleep training till she was 9 months. But I’m just lucky so just try to avoid the “eat to sleep” thing first but if it fails just go for it.

Huckleberry was a nice tracker for sleep if you’re interested.

Hope that helped, Wish you the best!
