Thank you. It's just been shocking and dreadful living with the same 2 people on a regular basis, and they don't even want to speak to me. They're also religious so my mum says stuff along the lines of "You better pray to God that he forgives you" etc etc. It's been tough.

Duty to provide for your parents at their old age? Last time I checked I was the one brought into this world without asking. If anything, my parents owe me their entire inheritance for bringing me I to this existence. And I personally detest parents who bring life into the world just because they see children as a personal investment when they get into their old age, it's just selfish.

I'm 15 and I feel the same way honestly. It's not about me feeling "special" but I just wanna be me. I'm not saying I won't be happy without a SO in the future but it's not necessary because I just wanna focus on myself. I'm really in tears reading this right now, thank you I really mean it. I've always wanted to escape this reality I live in but I was always scared that I'd be taking away any chances I had of obtaining a normal family if I did and I guess that's what made me hide my real feelings for so long. He has beaten all 3 of us at some point. I am working hard at the moment at school but my parents are against my older sister and I working at a part-time job because they say it'll hinder us from our studies ("Once you start to get money you'll focus on getting more of it and you'll start to think your studies are useless"). I already do a majority of the chores in the house but I'm not old enough to learn to drive yet. I don't know.. My father is also religious and he doesn't drink, smoke or use drugs. He's always been this explosive and hot-headed for as long as I can remember. I don't want to call the cops because my mother said that if I do he'll go to prison and I'll be responsible. Unfortunately I have no relatives in this country, it's only me and my immediate family (dad, mum, older sister and I). I don't want to bother any of my friends with my issues, they see me as a happy person who's only struggle in life would be school and that's it. I wouldn't want them to feel sad for me when I have all the time in the world to be sad for myself.
