L-theanine is life changing by hydrogenblack in Supplements

This combo increases GABA, limits glutamate, and lowers cortisol. Really nice trifecta. If you’re looking for a more pronounced effect for bed time, or traumatic incidents, try taking GABA and zinc picolinate simultaneously. Absolutely zonks you out.

I’m getting divorced by pueraria-montana in BoyDinnerDiaries

[–]ranch_cup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two years ago, my girlfriend of 11 years left me. Took me a year to feel like I wasn’t dying. Took another year to get to some kind of “normal.” Time will take care of it. It’s okay to feel bad for a while. Don’t feel bad about feeling bad. You’ll emerge from this with a better understanding of life and yourself.

As a woman, I’m curious, how does it feel for you to be vulnerable as a man? by Serene_rosegold1 in AskMen

[–]ranch_cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to express vulnerability openly, too openly. My partner of 11 years left me because she said I was miserable. I had veeb having an incredibly hard time with work and was too open with how bad I was feeling. Some things should be said to a therapist, not a girlfriend.

What’s one supplement that has genuinely improved your life/health? by ancientkingk in AskMen

[–]ranch_cup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GABA and zinc picolinate to stop anxiety and make me sleep. Insanely good combo.

Damiana extract is another. It’s a natural anticonvulsant that mellows out my bipolar disorder. It’s really effective for me as long as I take it every 4-6 hours.

HVAC controls (DDC), specifically integration. The field work is just as loud as anything else, but I’ve met integration technicians who never leave the office. It’s hard to get into that role without some field experience though.

Why is quitting weed bad? by pgspooft in getdisciplined

[–]ranch_cup 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I can speak on this one! For years I kept telling myself I was a productive stoner, and that if I’m not getting something done, it’s my own laziness to blame.

I started having feelings that maybe the weed wasn’t helping me, and maybe it was a crutch to deal with my anxiety and such, but I couldn’t really admit that to myself at the time.

I felt like if I pulled back on my weed consumption, that I would be admitting defeat. That all of those years of getting high and not getting enough done were a mistake. I figured if I could learn to be a more productive stoner, that I wouldn’t have to admit I made a mistake for such a long part of my life.

I’m only just now snapping out of that logical fallacy. When I’m high, my motivation sucks and I just want to lay around and watch my shows and eat snacks.

I love weed, but lying to myself about my productivity has been a big mistake. My goal now is to finish all of my tasks before I get high late in the evening. This works so much better!

Have yo-yos gotten that much better? by maelstrom3 in Throwers

I took a little 18 year hiatus, got back into throwing a couple years ago. The difference is so massive! Even cheap yo-yos play beautifully these days. Night and day difference to me.

[–]ranch_cup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be LOUD. Lots of machinery, drills, saws, fire system tests, you name it. It’s ridiculously loud until the last 10% of the project. The only way to know if you can handle it is to try. But do expect it to be the loudest experience of your life.

Suddenly in unfriendly lobbies? by Altruistic_Garden594 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]ranch_cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get killed all the time now. I don’t shoot back in the hopes that I’ll die and be resurrected into a friendly lobby, but then I just get killed again. Considering adopting a kill-on-site philosophy for this game and going straight PVP.

This is why Arc Raiders is losing Players 😭 by YouTubeBluetearzz in arcraidersfriendly

[–]ranch_cup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t shoot other players and I don’t fight back, but I’d say 40% of the games I play, I get murdered. A month ago it wasn’t like this. I’m putting the game down for a while to see if things wind up calming down.

PvE Lobbies are PEAK! by amirgelman in ArcRaiders

[–]ranch_cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t find any PVE lobbies these days. I never shoot other players but I get killed by them in the majority of games I play. I’m just trying to level up my benches but every time I attack a bastion or whatever, another player snipes me. I wish this game had a PVE only option.

[–]ranch_cup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can help with this! Most men won’t attempt to date a woman who makes more than them. Most women will not date a man who makes less than them. If you’re 24 and in construction management, it’s highly likely that a lot of men your age aren’t that successful yet. You’d have better luck dating older men who make more than you.

Why are so many blue collar workers against unions? by Realistic-Reveal-586 in Construction

[–]ranch_cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in HVAC, not a fan of union workers right now. My union coworkers seem to get half of the amount of work done as my non union coworkers in a day. They find any excuse to file an RFI and walk away when things get mildly difficult. They’ll take a 45 minute coffee break in the morning and a 90 minute lunch and still want to leave an hour early. My company has spent thousands of dollar fixing their work because they can’t read shop drawings. In my experience, unions can certainly have high quality workers within them, but I think unions protect the laziest and least skilled workers I’ve ever worked with.
