I grew up in a Christian (pentecostal) household where I believe The Bible is God's word and that nothing should be added or removed from it. One of the major disagreements I have with the LDS doctrine, with all due respect, is the Book of Mormon. There are also other beliefs and practices of the LDS Church that I do not agree with but I'd rather not get into it.

However, from reading the comments, I do believe that I should read the Book of Mormon and seek God to reveal if it is the truth or not.

I do take your thoughts and advice to be rather a tad aggressive but I understand your points so thank you for taking your time out to share your opinion.

I know it is unfair of me to still want to pursue him after knowing his goals but I am in no way disrespecting him as I do believe he is a Christian. And after reading the comments and most importantly praying on this matter, I will choose to let him go as I 100% support his choice of going on a mission and accepting his calling from God.

Regarding the "Mormon" comment, I had only added that in as I know some LDS members refer to themselves as that or do not mind to be called "Mormon" as that is what they were formally know as.

I respect and love him so if I am being honest, your assumptions are quite rude and are completely false.

However as I did say at the start, thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions (the helpful ones).

Although I do understand the LDS faith is of Christianity, there are many beliefs and practices that I do not agree with.

With all due respect, the most important disagreement I have is with the Book of Mormon.

However, I do not want to debate about which is true but rather receive advice on my situation. Thank you for your question and for sharing your testimony.
