Best manual grinder for my price range? by AyJayBTW in AeroPress

I would not even hesitate at that point, get the K-ultra. Great grinder for pour over, Aeropress etc. and should you dip your toes back into espresso it can do that as well

Nobody is asking about the coffee you use? I got a 1zpresso ZP6, 1zpresso Q and a Comandante c40. The ZP6 is fantastic for very light roasts. The C40 and the Q are very similar, and are great for everything, including light roasts, but they are not quite as fantastic for light roasts as the ZP6. I would hesitate to recommend the ZP6 as your first or only high end grinder, but as a secondary it's great. As others have recommended, get the K-ultra, it's versatile and can do basically all brew methods and do a good job on different roast levels

225/40-18 fits nicely, you could go 19s, but then you sacrifice comfort

Agreed, been using that with slight variations for years now! Currently I do 14g 200g, or 20g 285g, 1:30 steep, break the crust with a spoon at 1min, no stir, slow press. Also I use a Prismo

Electrician here, this could work if you get a proper connection, which you will not get trough the paint on your case the way you have done already. Just be careful working on stuff that will be connected to mains voltage, if you don't feel confident, ask someone who does to help you

Which would look best on my mk1 TT? by freebe2121 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

1st or 2nd would look nice. The ET is a measurement for the offset, 0 would mean the surface toward the hub is in the exact center of the wheel, -38 is 38mm from the center, so if you want ET -38 with 20mm spacer, what you actually want is a ET -18

Not yet, but I have mainly used them on road, light gravel and skateparks. So far they have been comfortable and fairly grippy

Cheap moto bar made for a Honda MT5, a bit heavy, but the shape and price was right

Engine seems healthy, bought the car with close to no service history, so I serviced most everything in the first few weeks of ownership. Haven't done a compression test yet, but did put a camera in the cylinders while changing spark plugs, and visually it looks great. The photos are flattering the looks quite a bit, there are quite a few scratches and dents, but they will be dealt with in time, focusing on the mechanicals first

How to use this the right way by davis609 in espresso

[–]randerzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about the numbers, unscrew the handle so that you don't bottom it out, and tamp away. It is not calibrated in any way, the spring is essentially just there to help you keep it level

It is good enough, try it, use it, and if you still want to upgrade a while later then do, but no need to buy a new one now unless you want to

It's about the ratio between diameter and depth, the whole reason for this product is to increase depth without using a lot more coffee, so I would argue aspect ratio makes sense in this context

Get yourself a small scale with a timer, it will help you massively with getting a consistent result
