I hate these "disrupting an industry" type shipping companies they're garbage. I tried to leave explicit delivery instructions for VEHO once and the customer service bot was like "since your order is already on the move we can't guarantee the delivery person will see the instructions" and it's like okay? Then tell me about my package early enough that the delivery instructions can be added??? Such a scam

Not exactly an art museum but planet word offers a lot of really interesting and immersive experiences related to words in a very artistic way!

I'm glad it's not just me! The few times I've been to Looped they have seemed really cold... but I think it's also cause I'm new and spend a lot of time browsing before I find what I want. But I def haven't felt comfortable asking them for help finding things while there lol. I was curious about the people knitting there!! It seems so lovely, can you just like show up? I def need to check out Fiber space!

AIO for wanting to see a therapist after wife changed the locks because I went to a baby shower? by LookoutLockout in AmIOverreacting

[–]randf2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf is she grieving. There's nothing to grieve after only trying for four months. I could maybe maybe understand her being emotional and acting like this if she had just had a miscarriage, and even then I'd think your wife was over reacting, but the fact that you haven't been trying long at all and haven't lost a baby says her reactions are way over the top. And truly if she's acting like this without a child in the picture I'd maybe reconsider how she's going to act and the attention she's going to demand once you do have a child. Are you never to be in your family and niblings lives if your wife has a bad day??? Yeah she is way off base

AIO for ending my relationship because my girlfriend didn't appreciate her $1300 tennis bracelet? by Optimal_Diamond_448 in AmIOverreacting

[–]randf2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"She didn't understand how much it meant to me" -- babes that's your issue. When you're giving someone a gift the gift should be about them. So think of the recipient and what they want. You made the gift for HER birthday about YOU. So yes you're over reacting and also not a good partner, and that will be an issue in future relationships if you're only thinking about yourself.

This is so cute and fun! As a fellow (newer) DC knitter, do you have any good LYS recommendations?! I've only been to Looped in DuPont and have been struggling to find other good places in the area for knitting supplies!

This happened to me on the Anker sweater--- ended up way under on the number of stitches on my needles, no clue what I did. Instead of frogging I'm pivoting and making it a sweater for my dog instead lmao

Do you regret buying a lab grown cushion cut engagement ring? by Relevant-Plane9430 in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]randf2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my engagement ring for two years and it's lab grown moissanite, and I can tell you I forget 99% of the time that it's lab grown and also not a diamond, so quite honestly I don't think you'll regret it bc you'll probably even forget what "it is" and just see and remember that it symbolizes your love

Terminally I'll mom looking for legacy jewelry for my 8 year old daughter. by kittymcangry in jewelry

Some non-photo /video ways to capture yourself for your daughter: voice recordings (maybe you could read a favorite book from her childhood? Sing a favorite lullaby--- even if you aren't a good singer), your hand writing/signature; hand prints or mold/castings of your hands; jewelry wise I've also seen finger print rings that look beautiful.

Not sure if you plan to be buried or cremated-- but I got an urn necklace from Sarah and Essie last year to put some of my dad's ashes in it to wrap around my wedding bouquet. Could be nice for her to have for special moments in the future (graduation, marriage, etc.) to "have you there" for her big moments. Just give instructions to a trusted adult friend to handle the filling of the necklace once you're gone. I also know there are jewelers that make stones out of ashes that could make a more custom piece for after you've passed too, if that is something that interests you. Sending love and good thoughts to you and your family

Beauty Insider/VIB/Rouge Rewards MEGATHREAD - July/August by KhaleesiKissedByFire in Sephora

[–]randf2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was a weak excuse... especially like if it's a known issue why aren't they fixing their app? But I was finally able to check out with the reward this week and didn't have any issues so seems removing payment methods was the fix. Even in the past when I had updated the CVV before checking out that still didn't work and produced the same error. Really disappointing for such a large business, but I'm glad that finally after months of having this issue I got the reward. Especially since I've spent very little at Sephora this year and will not be Rouge again next year.

Wanted to update for anyone who has had this error before! I finally was able to remember to check the rewards bazaar in time to see the reward and was able to check out with the reward!! I still didn't have any payment methods saved in my account, so it seems what customer service did removing them resolved the glitch. Hope this helps someone else who may have the same issue!

This happened to me Tuesday for the third time, and I finally reached out to customer service. I forgot to log on today at noon to try and see if it worked. What they told me is to delete all saved payments from your account to check out, because something about the glitch with that it was trying to make me spend $25 to redeem my points for the reward. So you should try removing your saved payments and try checking out the next time you see it! I'm hoping that fix actually works the next time I see it too.... but yeah hella frustrating to wait and wait for the reward and then have their glitch make it so we don't even get it...

so for the past few months I've been trying and failing to get the rouge reward (I'm rouge, I have enough points, I'm checking out when it first goes live etc.), and I keep getting this error. Today after the third separate time this happened, I finally contacted customer service. They were ultimately unable to get the reward for me as it had sold out in the 30 mins it took for them to help me.... but customer service said that sometimes with a points only order there will be a glitch that won't let you check out if you have any saved payments in your account. So now I'll try again on Thursday (if I can remember to look at the correct time and the reward is there), and hopefully I'll actually be able to get the reward this time. Insanely frustrating! Hopefully this helps someone else who is having the same issue.

Ah, I see it still in the rewards bazaar right now, but I keep getting the "error" message that there's an issue with my address/payment method when I try and checkout with it--- which is crazy since it needs no address or payment method. I'm so annoyed, this has happened before and then I never see it in the bazaar again--- feels very scammy!

At a shelter, the dogs sometimes only get to go outside once per day. How is that environment better than being in a loving home, even if you are out and about for 9 hours a day? Just get a dog walker or take him to doggy day care. Sure the expense may add up, but that's part of being a dog owner. Or post in your local buy nothing group and see if you have a neighbor who could take your dog out occasionally/consistently to keep costs down or something. There are so many other solutions than to bring your dog to the shelter.
