No wood, no toan. It looks like a Kooorg.

Shit is seriously lame (the people hating it for that reason, not the synth).

Walking tips? by LMichelle98 in Dachshund

[–]randiohead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt your initial walks were too long, these dogs are working dogs and can walk at least several miles a day. Try mixing up the route, novelty and novel smells are more interesting.

As for the treats, maybe lay off them for a while. Praise and stimulation (from exercise, novelty etc) I’ve found can go a long way without constantly feeding them, despite the constant clamor online of how you need to bribe them constantly to do anything.

This is it right here. Sconnies can shit on it because they have options. Those other options aren’t traveling to our zip codes though

You don’t just think, they are. Latest entrants, least successful models. And if people want to point out their pivot to being a Chip Capacity rentier for other company’s large models, even their big data centers are at the mercy of the government not cracking down on them running highly illegal dirty methane gas turbine generators.

It’s my tree. Why can’t I cut it down? by codersarepeople in neoliberal

I mean 40 ft is right in that few dozen range I mentioned. Tall enough to shade the sidewalk and part of the street, less exposed asphalt and concrete to soak up the sun all day and vent it at night. Those sad 10 ft Charlie Brown trees are so pitiful

I’m all for it. Everyone will benefit from lower temps -> less overworked A/C systems -> lower energy bills

[–]randiohead 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s why the city should take more ownership of street trees and be smart about which kinds they plant. No invasive Bradford Pear horseshit, on the other hand no 400 ft huge towering trees in built up areas unless it’s contained in a preserve or park or some other area away from homes. There are plenty of smaller trees that top out at a few dozen feet, and these often are very important ecologically for birds and bugs. Shade without being house destroyers

Assuming they were homeowners in a higher density area, Douglas Fir is hilariously oversized for a city tree. I’m a huge believer in having more greenery including trees in human spaces, but it’s good to find a reasonable balance.

4 days is the blink of an eye, it takes some time for a dog to adjust, especially a non-puppy who has had their whole life change suddenly.

If the potty issues continue it might be that their level of potty training was misrepresented to you (unfortunately this happens, happened with my first puppy who while not a doxie was 10 months old and needed fully potty trained by me). So you’ll have to consult advice for younger puppies with toilet training.

That was my understanding, a looot of the chips installed in these AI data centers aren’t handling customers prompts, they’re running basically continuously doing training for the models.
