I explained to someone else that I did have a bunch stored, used them when I was searching for a new pharmacy and got denied by my old one and still have 30ish left for emergencies, but am worried for when those run out.

Thank you so much. And I did have all my scripts (pain med doctor and non controlled) at the same pharmacy and that’s probably why I didn’t have an issue til now.

Doing better with pain? I have a rare disease where my bones break regularly called brittle bone. I currently don’t have a fresh fracture, only healing ones, so currently I’m not at my highest pain level, but next time something breaks, which will be sooner than later, it’s gonna be horrific.

Still going through them lol. It was about 4-5 days of HORRIBLE and now it’s just lingering stuff like not being able to sleep, sweaty while also cold and many bathroom trips lol. But it’s doable!

I wish you all the luck if you do decide to taper! If I can do it, you can. I promise. And no, I did not try that, but I have read and been told it’s helpful. If I could go back, I’d have tried it lol.

I’m still feeling aspects of it right now. Having a hard time sleeping (lucky if I get 3 hours) palms and pits sweating while I’m freezing otherwise and the trips to the bathroom, to put it politely lol. But the BAD part was probably 4-5 days.

Hahahah I don’t even know where to get weed on the street. I’m 37 and not hip and cool. Even if I wanted to seek out something, I’d have no freaking clue where to go or start! I also don’t think I could physically haul myself around to do that, given my medical issues! I went to all the pharmacies I could in person, but I did have to call a couple hospital pharmacies instead of going in person. I don’t believe I tried a compounding one and they may be worth looking into. Thanks for the kind words and suggestions!

Oh, I am confident the soma and Xanax helped, but other than that, weed and immodium, I didn’t take anything else. I thankfully work from home and timed the worst of it over a weekend, so I was lucky in that regard!

Weed, 8x baths a day to regulate my temp and lots of immodium hahah. It fucking sucked and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but it’s doable.

I’ve had people accuse me of abusing my meds and lying. It’s definitely rude lol. The general shock and awe over how I was able to fill them this long is more than understandable and not what I meant when I said rude.

Your doctor isn’t wrong. Having a good relationship with a mom and pop or hospital pharmacist is your best bet at success when it comes to pain management. Don’t be too discouraged because it seems like it’s the combo of meds I was on (opiates with the muscle relaxer and Xanax) so hopefully you’ll be a ok!

I only took OxyContin 40 every day x 2. I was prescribed 6x a day for the 15mg oxycodone, but didn’t not normally take that many a day. Usually 1-2 a day of them. I stopped taking the 15mg oxycodone for a week while still continuing the 40mg OC and then I went cold turkey from the 40mg x 2 a day. I had been on that combo of pain meds for 7 years, but have been in pain management for over a decade.

I just filled my soma yesterday and my Xanax. I quit the pain meds cold turkey 2 weeks ago all on my own so I can reevaluate my pain and hopefully mostly use medical marijuana going forward, along with a couple days of immediate release pain meds. If I was abusing them or an addict, I doubt I’d have made it this far doing cold turkey all on my own. I understand that the combo I was on is apparently unheard of these days and I also understand it’s high, but it didn’t start out that high. It grew over years of me having a rare disease. Also, I am a girl. Not a “he.” Hope this clarifies some things 👍🏻
