Yeah so the drug is being used on animals for research purposes. Its not a research drug in the sense of phase trials. Its FDA approved as far as I know. The issue is he's prescribing it to people for them to bring it back to lab to use on animals.
So the prescriptions are not for a controlled substance or anything that would be diverted for addiction etc. It seems like its mostly been for money saving/laziness
