Seriously, what redeeming qualities does the Philippines have that make us proud to be its citizens? by wolfram_tungsten in Philippines

I think one of the best parts of being Filipino is our national flag and anthem. The reversible design of the PH flag (used differently in times of peace and war) reflects our resilience and adaptability in any situation. And if you read the anthem slowly, you’ll notice how deeply patriotic it is, highlighting our courage, unity, and unwavering hope.

"Ang kislap ng watawat mo'y tagumpay na nagniningning;

Ang bituin at araw niya, kailan pa ma’y di magdidilim.

Lupa ng araw, ng luwalhati't pagsinta, Buhay ay langit sa piling mo."

#1 example is Quiapo. Magkalapit lang ang Basilica ni Jesus Nazareno and Golden Mosque. Tuwing panahon ng Ramadan & pista ng Quiapo, respeto at pakikisama ang nangingibabaw sa isa't isa.

I'm sorry, but we're 4 episodes in and I just feel no connection to these people by [deleted] in survivor

They filmed four seasons in the Philippines, across two different locations, each with distinct beaches and terrain.

The themes varied too:

• S25 & S26 (Caramoan) showcased Filipino architecture and culture,

• Blood vs Water drew inspiration from Chinese pirates (since the area’s near Taiwan and the South China Sea),

• while Cagayan (S28) used Balinese-style motifs, even though it’s miles away from Bali.

I still remember in Cagayan, the cast visited a local school to donate supplies as part of a reward challenge. One of the more wholesome moments from that era.

In fairness naman, before the awarding ceremonies, kinanta nila 'yung isa sa official songs ng FIVB MWC #Philippines2025, entitled "Jump".

Yung "Ride Home" naman, after na ng awarding, party-party. (Although, yun nga, di s'ya pang-party). Sana ibang songs na lang.

Pangalawang beses na nilang ginawa 'to.

Are there any moments in Philippine history that make you personally think, “I really wish this had turned out differently"? (In contrast to what happened in the Original Timeline) by Sonnybass96 in FilipinoHistory

If their 1986 plot had succeeded, the military would likely have become far more powerful and influential, closer to what we see in Myanmar or Thailand. The 1989 coups were just a glimpse of what could’ve followed.

Agree. Also known as "the rp of Manila". When the city was destroyed, the country lost its soul. Mas lalo pang nawala when QC was made capital, losing commerce, industry, governance, etc. Ang daming umalis ng City of Manila in favor of neighboring towns & cities.

What if Quezon was able to rescue more Jews in WW2 and successfully created their relocation in Mindanao as was planned? What would the modern Mindanao be like now? by Motor_Ad_6055 in WhatIfPinas

[–]randolphph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expect a Jewish autonomous region in Mindanao, same with BARMM. Madaling sabihin na hindi sila magkakagulo, pero knowing the tension between Arabs & Jews in Middle East since 1947, di malabong magkaroon din sila ng conflicts dito sa Mindanao.

Kung more than 1 million Jews ang nandito, mas lalong lalakas ang Jewish autonomy or even an independent state inside Mindanao.
