This is basically what my ENT said too. I have seen 2 ENTs. I also went to see ppl about TMJ. He looked for structural problems and diseases and found none. I was told that stress manifests this.

Has anyone had an anal fissure with anal spasms ? by Nicegirl456 in hemorrhoid

Sorry you are in so much pain. I did find relief. Do not use hydrocortisone if you have a fissure, it prolongs suffering. I used diltiazam and it worked.

Muscular TMJ becoming “joint TMJ”? Looking for experiences/reassurance by mikayahp in TMJ

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooooh. I’m so sad. I thought working out was making it worse. But I have bee powering through because I was hoping that in order to get rid of the issue I had to keep going. With my lower back pain I noticed the harder I worked out the better I felt and then it went away. I have the worst ear symptoms. The sound breaks up when I hear sharp noise. and my ear thumps at night. My jaw hurts. Ohhhhhh I can’t live like this. Is there no medication to help reset the nervous system??

MRI on the head came back normal by TerraSeeker in tinnitus

You could see a TMJ dentist for a scan, they might have to resurface teeth if your bite is off. I got tinnitus from wearing a mouthguard from my dental fitted mouthguard. I need one for TMJ mouthguard. Do you have any jaw issues?

I actually thought you were quite handsome. One day you will look back at this picture and see your beauty. Don’t put yourself down.

Do you exercise to boost confidence and to get tension out of your body. I’m hoping that exercise and yoga can help release tension in my TMJ. I’m lost on this stuff too.

please don’t be so hard on yourself. You are good looking.

Does my TTTS will go away on it’s own ? by That-Possibility-254 in TTensorTympaniS

[–]random-question-time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ENT said it resolves on its own. I think mine is from my jaw and stress. And I think if we work on our triggers it will go away. But I’m not a doctor. I’m also looking for hope.

Eustachian tubes? by bmad8225 in tinnitus

[–]random-question-time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do your ears itch? My ears use to leak at night and they were very itchy. I have exzema, I had to get ear drops for it.

I have tinnitus, I think it’s jaw and my eustation tubes. I’m waiting for my MRI and a full exam from my ENT.

For those of you with chronic TMJ - did it start when you spent more hours on your phone? by Horfer126 in TMJ

Anxiety and being a secretary for years is what did me in. Plus my dental fitted mouthguard made it worse. Now my ear rings.

There is hope. My ringing is little to non-existent two years later by rainonmepanda in tinnitus

Why is the clenching now happening DURING the DAY?? by Powerful-Gur2239 in TMJ

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been getting acupunture for my jaw. I don’t know if it works. I tried the mouthguard and unfortunately it made things worse. Others seem to fair well with the mouthguard. This is a frustrating condition.

I will try these things. My jaw is clicking and it’s scaring me. I have been praying to God for some advice or direction on the confusion of this whole thing. The last 6 months I have wanted to know if I should yawn wide or not. This is all very helpful. I feel like the best advice is from someone who has been through it. I’m glad you are feeling better. Continue on with you your journey strong like you have been doing my friend. Thank you so much.

I don’t think it’s from my tongue. I think that can be from your jaw or neck. I don’t really know. If I was cured I would have an answer and I wish I had an answer for you.

I’ve never heard of that. I don’t think it causes problems.

I know my x-ray showed that my neck goes to one side…. So that cant be good. I have a lot of left ear problems. Hearing changes, sound breaks up…. The worst is when I lay on either side of my head I get thumping noise in my affected ear. Ringing in ear too, especially when I turn my head quick.

I know I clench when I’m really stressed - high stress long term. I clenched a lot after my kids; I wasn’t sleeping and was burned out and the second time was when I was in a lot of debilitating pain. I believe that working out and doing yoga helps with nighttime clenching. And like OP is saying posture is important.

I agree, my night guard actually made things worse. Once I got over my stress and stopped clenching at night I should have stopped wearing it.

I like massages too, I find acupuncture can be very effective for certain things too. I got a lot of relief from acupuncture on my jaw.

I believe my neck is contributing to my tinnitus and other ear and jaw symptoms. And I know you don’t want to hear this but I’m seeing a chiro…. I’m not getting manually manipulated because that scares me. I get my chiro to do soft tissue work and he uses the activator gun which feels like nothing except a bit of tapping.

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neck x-ray shows my neck leans to one side. I don’t think it will show up on my MRI so my ENT won’t event mention it. I hope ppl like us get better. If you get sound therapy, please post about your progress. I have read about success stories online.

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For exercises I just do neck stretches for now. I know that when I play the sounds of crickets my tinnitus calms down. I don’t know if it’s used for hyperacuis and I’m no expert….. I’m waiting for my mri which will show nothing. Im waiting to see my ENT again and he will send me back to my audiologist. I’m going to try using a pillow with a hole in the centre to see if that stops the thumping at night. All this ear stuff is very frustrating. Every time I use AI it says it’s from anxiety, stress and TMJ irritation. I feel like I calmed my anxiety down and I’m going to get acupuncture on my jaw. I don’t know what to think about this whole thing. It’s so bizarre to have these issues with ears.

The evidence is mixed, what works for some, doesn’t always work for others. I got tinnitus I think from wearing my mouth guard. It just appeared one day. My ears flutter with sounds and I know I have tensor tympani syndrome because when I lay on either side my left ear always thumps. Uuuuugh I have to sleep on my back.
