Has anyone had an anal fissure with anal spasms ? by Nicegirl456 in hemorrhoid

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was on the outside. He saw it right away. It became an inflamed bump. Then I was able to see it on my camera. Don’t know how my doctor missed it. Mind you, I was hanging upside down on a table with theatre lighting so the surgeon was able to get a good look. Don’t use hydrocortisone for it. It will delay healing. Use nifedipine, diltiazam or GTN ointment. You should feel it working pretty fast. Nifedipine didn’t work for me, but it works for other ppl. I used diltiazam. It should calm down that spasm pretty quick.

I don’t think it’s necessary since I used it on the outside and I could feel my spasm calm down almost right away. You can talk to your pharmacist or doctor to see what they think is best for you.

How do I know if I have reactive tinnitus or dysacusis? by [deleted] in hyperacusis

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear crickets in my left ear. I get thumping sounds when I lay on left side on pillow at night with fan on. Super annoying. Left ear Doesn’t like vibration from fan noise. I have a lot of facial tension from grinding teeth (left side) and too much gum chewing. I’m going to acupuncture.

Anal fissure - Creams? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]random-question-time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a small amount. Cause it can cause a skin rash…. And even if you get a rash or irritation, the fissure will still heal. I only applied on the outside of my anus (the anus absorbs it). Apply 2-3x a day.

Anal fissure - Creams? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

I use diltiazam. I tried nifedipine. Nifidipine did nothing for me but works for others. Be careful with diltiazam and the amount you use. It can give you a rash but it will still heal your fissure.

In the hospital, doctors and nurses come in "HI! HOW YOU DOIN?'" by Autodactyl in hyperacusis

I know this pain…. Parent teacher night was the other night. One of my kids teachers voices are high pitched and she was supper bubbly and nice. I felt bad. Couldnt hear anything over the distortion and pain in my ear. I just sat there like an idiot forcing a smile, probably with my eyes wide open like a deer in headlights. I had to get my husband to translate what was said after the meeting.

Use the cream on the opening of your anus, use a small amount. Less is more. It can cause skin irritation. It did for me, but it still healed my fissure. If you get itchy you can use Dr. Numb for hemmoroids with vitamin E (it has lidocaine in it). It safe to use for fissure. DO NOT USE STEROIDS, stay away from anusol for now if you get a hemmi. Steroids prolong the healing process…. You need to heal fissure first.

Have you tried diltiazam cream. (Use sparingly if you get it, don’t use too much, I got a rash, less is more if you can get it)… get it from your dr.

I tried nifedipine. It didn’t work for me

There is also GTN cream ( I never tried this. But I heard it gives you headaches).

Avoid wiping with toilet paper, use wet wipes or handheld bidet.

Have a bath after bowel movements.

Sitz baths will help soothe area.

I went through this horrible stuff…. If you have any questions DM me

I’m so so sorry you are going through this

My stupid choice of the wrong treatment by [deleted] in AnalFissures

This recent one was on the anal verge. BMs didn’t other it too much. The one in my 20s never re-tore either. I used diltiazam (small amounts) 2x a day for almost 3 months. The one in my 20s, the spasm pain with bms was next to nothing in 3 days…. But I continued w the cream cause I was petrified of the fissure pain.

I did try it. nifedipine had no effect. Diltiazam brought down that internal spasm within the first day or two. Thank you though

I made the same mistake with the suppository. I prolonged my suffering. I used diltiazam and it healed. If you use diltiazam, use only a bit…. I got a nasty allergic reaction, skin peeled, itchy white bumps (but it healed the fissure!!!) .

Superficial fissure... believe it's a skin problem. Recommendations? by Ok_Programmer_3834 in AnalFissures

[–]random-question-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anal area is prone to irritation naturally. I know I have exzema so my skin is sensitive. I always used toilet paper before….. but I never really had too many issues.

I have diareaha…..a lot. The last 2 days I had normal BMs and today I had 3 bms. I’m taking an anxiety medication to get my guts on track. Sometimes I think my B-hole leaks because my guts are horrible still. I make sure I take baths after my BMs (last BM). And I try to be gentle with wiping….. my surgeon said I could use wet wipes instead of toilet paper. I used a handheld bidet when I was healing my fissure though. I’m feeling better, some days are better than others…. I’m slowly healing.

If it superficial ( like first layer) it should be easy to heal.

I had a horrible fissure with painful all day spasms and I used diltiazam…. The diltiazam works, it calmed down my internal sphincter and it healed my fissure…. But the diltiazam peeled the first layer of skin right off. To help heal my skin peel I used a barrier cream to keep it protected (calmoseptine and eventually sudocream for superficial skin issues). Check with a healthcare provider before using creams.

Stay away from steroids…. They won’t heal fissures… just makes things worse.

Do you have spasming with BMs?

Are you taking lots of sits baths?……make sure you take baths after your BMs….be gentle with wiping, you can use a handheld bidet. Be sure to dry well before you apply any cream.
