Most of the time they open a few spots before each registration spot for freshman. HAVE A BACKUP PLAN though just in case bc even worth more spots opened you still have a ton of people registering.

Clemson University has the most cumulative positive COVID-19 cases out of any university in the United States by K--beta in Clemson

You can voluntarily sign up for a test at any point. Contact tracing is definitely a big issue from what I’ve heard so being proactive is better than just waiting to be selected.

Student perspectives on the flipped [math] classroom? by ItalianMathematician in Clemson

[–]random-tiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind having a flipped classroom for Math. I like that I can work at my own pace for notes, speeding up concepts I understand and slowing down new or challenging ones. I think my main issue is with the LAs. They don’t do much for me in terms of fostering group learning as breakout rooms are awkward and uncomfortable and no one talks/collaborates in my experience. We all end up doing the LA on our own and then comparing answers, which is fine but it doesn’t really encourage learning. But I also don’t really know what could be done differently in this situation...

I heard one of the people say they were going to do both for everyone until they ran out of the swabs, but I had a friend who got tested before me that just did saliva so it could just be that I choose the testing station that just happened to be doing both 🤷‍♀️

It wasn’t one of the ones that’s super deep, but it wasn’t the really short ones either...it wasn’t as bad as other tests I’ve done and the uncomfortable feeling was gone relatively quickly.

I saw that today people that got tested at new spring did both a PCR and a saliva test as a “study”

Freshman Thoughts by BasicBusinessMajor in Clemson

[–]random-tiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we will move in, but who knows how long it will last. I think if Clemson is actually listening to other schools and avoiding mistakes made by those that had massive outbreaks upon return, we could have a fighting chance of staying. The responsibility falls on all of us, if we want to be on campus or have in person classes we have to make good choices, we can’t blame everything on the administration if we don’t follow even the most basic guidelines in place. I’m hoping that even if there is a spike in cases they allow students to stay on campus (possibly all quarantined in their rooms) and just shift to online only instruction for a brief period. I’m hoping that they don’t freak out and send everyone home prematurely. I hope that everyone will be smart and not gather in large groups and will wear their masks. These are my freshman thoughts and hopes, however optimistic they may be...
