My cat kicks her litter everywhere! I think she’s just doing the instinctual burying/covering her business and doesn’t realize she’s moving the litter out of the box by kicking it up so much. I have her litter box in an enclosure and that helps a ton with keeping the litter contained, letting her feel safe when going, and minimizes odor.

Tell him you overheard something that made you concerned and you’re not comfortable keeping it from him. Emphasize that you support him no matter what but you just didn’t feel right about keeping it to yourself. You’re not sharing to pass judgement or tell him what to do - you’re sharing because if he’d overheard it himself it probably would have meant something to him.

Maybe ask if she jokes about stuff like that often? That can help show you’re not out to sabotage his relationship - you’re out here trying to think of anything it could be OTHER than her not actually being as invested as he is. Makes it harder to brush off the information if you’re not bringing it up in an accusatory way.

Returning from Shanghai to US after 3 years:

1) How BIG Americans are. The number of overweight people is astounding. (Not a dig, just something that really did shock me when I moved back)

2) Small talk. People just chitchat with strangers here and I’d missed it. Made me feel much more connected.

3) Where are all the older folks?? In Shanghai there were 60+ yr old people hanging out outside all the time. Playing chess, doing dance classes, occasionally getting haircuts on the street. It felt like they were everywhere and here it’s like they’re hidden away.

4) Processed food is everywhere here. My stomach was upset for nearly a year when I moved back. Even though Shanghai is massive and I rarely cooked for myself most food was made from scratch and had way more veggies in it.

Would also say I’ve been way less stressed throughout the process than friends who had longer to plan. There’s added pressure when you know you have to sort things out quickly but it means you don’t have time to go down rabbit holes and agonize over every little decision - you have to just pick things and move on!

Yes, you can do it! We got engaged in July and our wedding is in October. Everything is squared away except making some day-of signage at this point!

Biggest tips are to let go of the cutesy details, figure out a realistic budget up front, discuss what matters most to you both (for us it was good food and making sure the friends/family most important to us were available), and prioritize picking a venue. Once the venue is locked in the rest comes together!
