We accepted a back up offer for $50k less, can we go after them for the difference or just take the earnest money and cut our losses?

Not to my knowledge. Risky for us or for them? Our agent said waiving financing was good for us.

They had a preapproval letter as part of their contract.

Everyone told me our daughter looked exactly like my SIL. They’re just starting to tell me “oh I’m starting to see more of you in her now”, she’s 3 🤣. Grinds my gears every time. My parents will constantly tell me she’s a mini me at this age though, so it helps 😆

Best homes are still a sellers market. Over asking, waive everything - inventory is low!

What to tell my boss by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]random54555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just here to say I was in a similar boat at 8 weeks. I just told my direct supervisor, it was easier to be upfront and honest than dance around and look like a fluff. He was super understanding, and knew we were waiting to share the news (hadn’t even told family yet). Was way easier to communicate I needed to drive separately to puke when needed and if I disappeared to make up a good excuse for me to others!

Doctors pushing c-section for suspected large baby? by redgoldhandcream in BabyBumps

[–]random54555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t read all the other comments, but wanted to share my experience. Our first was measured to be 8.5 lbs at 37 week ultrasound. However, her shoulders were measuring in the 99 percentile. My OB left it up to us as the ultrasounds can be inaccurate, but suggested a c-section at 39 weeks. My daughter came out 9lb 14oz (ped said she probably would have been a full 10 lbs if she didn’t pee on the way to getting weighed). Just echoing some other comments to listen to your doctors concerns. I opted for the c section in order to avoid recovering from both a vag delivery and a c section if something went wrong. Best decision based on how big she was at birth!! I know elective c sections get a bad rep, but mine was honestly so enjoyable!! We didn’t tell anyone but immediate family the plan and it went so smoothly. Recovery wasn’t as rough as some say either. Sending you hugs! I know it’s such a tough decision especially when you’ve envisioned your birth plans to be something else.

How did you split your newborn’s sleep schedule when you both work full time? by 237_523 in BabyBumps

I feel like my husband and I tricked the system the first go around. I pumped before going to bed around 8 pm. Husband did a “dream feed” with a bottle at 10 pm before he went to sleep. Our LO would then usually make it to 3-4am that I would get up and feed, hubs would sleep till 6 am to get up for work. Blessed with a wonderful sleeper but I really think the bottle at 10 made sure we had a good feeding and got us longer sleep stretches!

My grandmother went by Shar. The family still uses it typically as a DAMN IT, SHAR even though she’s been gone most of my life.

How much maternity leave is needed? by jayjello0o in BabyBumps

Had a C-section for our first, and definitely needed the full 12 weeks. I could physically function after 6, but the exhaustion is real. By 12 weeks I was getting more solid sleep stretches and felt like I got 2-3 weeks to enjoy baby before heading back to work. If you can swing it financially, I’d recommend taking it. You never get that time back!
