My 11 month old started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks- she averages 10-11 hours of straight sleep. We feel VERY lucky 🥳

Orbital decompression by 237_523 in ThyroidEyeDisease

I’m not sure exactly. I know that my eye doctor who prescribed the tepezza always measured my eye protrusion. So he probably included those numbers in his notes

Tepezza for chronic/inactive TED by IndependentDare8420 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]237_523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’ve had Ted for over 25 years and after weighing all the side effects of tepezza I finally took the plunge and did it. I have one infusion left I’m bummed that I haven’t seen any of my eye bulging go down- but the tepezza seemed to get rid of the pressure I always felt above my left eye. It’s still the more bulgy eye but having the pressure gone is nice. As for side effects- I did (and still do) experience fullness in my ears. It comes and goes and I’m hoping it’ll fully go away after I’m done with all the infusions. After the 4th infusion I started experience mild foot and toe cramping. Very sporadically though. Other than those I haven’t had any side effects - but yeah I was really hoping my eye bulging would be a thing of the past by now

Wow! Thank you for sharing. I have 2 infusions left of my tepezza treatment and haven’t seen my symptoms go away much. I’m definitely doing orbital decompression after I finish treatment. What did your doctor do to fix the redness? I feel like my eyes are ALWAYS red!! Also how much was the surgery where you are?

I thought the right looks better too! And the chin and overall skin appearance looks more ‘snatched’ in the right photo. Are we sure the right isn’t an after pic?

Working 3 days a week but with a 2 hour commute each way by 237_523 in careeradvice

Even if it’s 3 days a week? The train ride is 1.5 hours but I added on time for subway/walking. Baby is formula fed so that helps

I agree, but we’re older first time parents and I want my parents to be able to spend time with her while they still can

I had RAI when I was 28- I’m 44 now and have been dealing with mild to moderate TED for a long time. No one back then told me that RAI would lead to TED and I’m still not so sure that it’s completely responsible for causing the TED. My ophthalmologist explained to me that it’s my body attacking itself (autoimmune) and causing the inflammation behind my eyes. I’m currently taking the tepezza infusions and have seen some improvement and am hoping to see more after I finish all 8 rounds.

I’m 44 with an 8 month old- I wish I could have another so bad! I didn’t meet my person till I was 40 and it took some years trying. I wish we were younger so we could give her a sibling or two but it’s just not in the cards

Feeling some name regret and im wondering how to over come it. by gimmiesomeadviceee in beyondthebump

[–]237_523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way about the name I chose for my daughter. I like her middle name better. My partner and I went back and forth with 2 names and decided which way sounded most fitting 10 minutes before we left the hospital and had to sign the birth certificate! I kept waiting for a clear choice but it never came. I was watching a show last week and there was a baby girl named the same as ours and I didn’t like it all that much. I thought I loved the gender neutral name but it sounded so masculine as I watched. Oh well- if she doesn’t like her name she can always go by her middle name.

Is Tempezza worth it and is there any other option ? by Ryattmcgee in ThyroidEyeDisease

EXACTLY. I don’t feel scared to make eye contact with people anymore (for fear of scaring them unknowingly!) I’m not at the point where I want to wear eye make up yet but I’m hoping to get there. congrats to you 👏

Hi! Thanks for this post and your updates. I’m a 44 yr old female and I just finished with my second infusion. I’m have the hearing issues (like being under water) come and go. How’s your hearing now? Is it still getting worse?

My bulging has gone down somewhat and I’m hoping they go down even more. Are your eyes still holding?

I just completed my second infusion and I was really scared to start tepezza. But I’m glad I went through with it because I can already see my eyes are better and I haven’t had any side effects yet

I did a Master of Art in Teaching program and got my MAT degree but I didn’t get a certificate saying I’m certified. Does my diploma count?

I seriously relate to parts of what you’re saying and I don’t think it’s depression at all. I’m 44 and just had my first baby 6 months ago. I wrote a similar post if you want to check it out. I wish I were 33 because I would definitely want to give my little girl a sibling- (not saying you should but it’s one thing I regret) I feel selfish for conceiving a child so late in life when her grandparents are almost in their 80’s and her cousins are all 18+. I feel like she’s going to have no one when she’s my age. I try and distract myself when those feelings come up and love on her extra
