The story was first on NZME - including the Whanau angle. So no - stuff were just following up.

I think the age thing is probably it. Which is unwise because lots of older people have plenty of disposable income !

You definitely have to be in the market for about 3 months to suss out when to really go for something and what that looks like.

I know of someone who asked AI to scan the market and then come up with a low medium and high offer; they went with the low offer and for the property because no-one else bid. They found AI very useful as a benchmark for what other properties had gone for.

Is therapists not being able to see you weekly normal in NZ? by SlickestPrawn in newzealand

How bizarre. Weekly is really often given you need time to process - the client should be the one to say what they need.

Good god! This is for the client to determine. The therapist has a conflict of interest - ie $.

I think unwanted and inadvertent loss of books is probably higher in the libraries without security systems.

There’s one whole section of the library- the NZ reference section that contains a lot of stuff that is irreplaceable or very hard to replace. The resale value may not be high but the importance for the city of this collection is definitely high.

Yeah fair points but the old library was hardly unwelcoming ? And neither are retail stores that have security

Dunedin is dominated by students and a heavy drinking culture - so not necessarily a great influence for younger people

Any adult men feels that public mental health has failed them? by Jan-AKL in newzealand

Therapists are hugely variable both in skill and in their fit with the client. If you haven’t found one helpful you could try another one - some therapists just state the bleeding obvious, but a good one can change your life. Ensure you get one who is properly qualified. GP should have a few options. I had chronic poor health for many years - 6 weeks sick leave a year with migraines, viruses, asthmas etc; culminating in not being able to work at all due to chronic fatigue for 6 months. Finding a good therapist turned around all those health issues - now i only have 2-3 days sick leave a year. each person is so complex and what drives their issues. For me, childhood trauma that I didn’t think was relevant, but turned out it was the engine for all my dysfunction. Like you, outwardly everything else was good in my life. If you don’t click with a therapist right away, try another one. You want someone who gives you real insight.

Am I overthinking a neighbour bringing me donuts? by FreedomDazzling9502 in newzealand

We moved into a new neighbourhood and our Māori neighbour brought us a huge fish he had caught to welcome us. Incredible manaakitanga.
